Y/N pov:
"You look amazing!" Alessandro says as I walk out of the bathroom.
"Oh, thanks," I say while blushing.
I wore a white strapless dress with a corset bodice and a very flowing bottom. I was going to have this as my wedding dress, but it wasn't formal enough.
"I think you look beautiful, and I can't wait to see your dress tomorrow."
"It's funny how we agreed on a semi-formal dress code, but you're wearing a suit."
"When am I not in a suit? I think about it?"
"Does that mean you will wear an even more formal suit tomorrow?"
"You will just have to wait."
"I hate waiting. You know, I can't believe we can't sleep together tonight. I'm going to miss you so much."
"Me too,"
He looks at my eyes, then at my mouth, then back. I looked down, blushing, but the handsome idiot knew what I was doing and lifted my chin.
"I know you too well, Wifey," he says.
"Do you know who is coming tonight? Angelina has done everything; I know nothing."
"From what I know, I think it will be just the immediate family, like my parents and your dad, siblings, and the bridal party."
"Oh, it shouldn't be too hard," I say, letting out a sigh. "
"Why would it be hard, baby? What are you worried about?"
"I don't know; everyone we know is going to be there, so I have to be my best self?"
"Princess, look at me; tonight and tomorrow are all about us. Everyone else is a pawn, and we are the queen and king."
"What about Angelina, Carlo, and Russo? Are they pawns too?"
"Angelina and Carlo are rooks, while Russo is a knight."
"Whoa, Russo, one step down." I laugh.
"He is 70 cents on the dollar." We both laugh until we hear a knock at the door.
"Hurry, lovebirds, we're all starving." Carlo yells.
"You hear the man lets go," I say, turning and walking to the door.
-Time skip-
30 minutes later
"My God," I mutter as I enter the dining room for dinner.
There is a long dining table in the middle, covered with bright flower arrangements. Burning candles hanging from the ceiling create a warm glow.
"Beautiful," Alessandro remarks as we take our seats at the head of the table, looking at everyone taking their seats as well.
As soon as our butts hit the chairs, dinner is served.
People talk to each other, but I feel nerves running through me again.
Alessandro noticed and put his hand on my thigh to comfort me.
"Don't worry, Princess. You're surrounded by love and support tonight. I'm right here with you," he whispers into my ear, and I feel my shoulder droop at his words.
I smile back as the echoes of clinking cutlery and conversation fill the room.
"Welcome to the family; you'll soon be like me and become Mrs. Ferraro,' Alessandro's mother tells me.
I smile and say, "Thank you."
"Yes, it's so wonderful," my father says sarcastically.
"Dad," I warn him.
"What are you saying, Mr. Y/L/N? Are you saying it is bad for your daughter to have my surname?" says Alessandro's father.
"I'm not saying anything; I'm happy that my daughter will share a surname with Alessandro; it's a shame it has to be the same as yours," my father shouts back.
"Don't let your little grudge against me stop your daughter from having a wonderful wedding."
"I never said I never wanted her to have an amazing wedding; all I am saying is that back then, and you know when, you should have let the case go, but you didn't."
"Gentlemen, please," I try to say, but they carry on.
"It was getting too close; they were almost at the age where they would remember everything; it had to stop," Alessandro's father shouts back.
"No, it didn't; you could have."
Bang!
A shot rings out, and I turn to see Alessandro standing up with his gun, firing at the floor.
"Enough, both of you! You are making my wife uncomfortable at her own wedding; no one cares what happened years ago, so sit down and shut up."
Everyone is quiet. Alessandro sits down and rubs my back to calm me down.
No one spoke. For about 7 seconds.
"Fuck."
I look up and see Gemma smiling.
"What did you just say?" I ask.
"She said, Fuck, sissy, we know big words now."
Everyone laughs—well, everyone except Alessandro's dad and my dad, who just stare at each other.
Before we finish, Alessandro raises his glass.
"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you all for joining us this evening. May this dinner be a testimony to the love that surrounds us, and may it bless our future together."
The room erupts in applause and clinking glasses.
"Thank you all for being here tonight and for your love and blessings. Alessandro and I are forever grateful for your presence and support," I say through tears.
"To the bride and groom," Angelina says, raising her glass.
"To the bride and groom," everyone says.
