Y/N pov:
Dinner with my dad and his friends is the worst. Learn from my mistakes, and don't leave your room when they're in the house. It's fine; I guess they haven't asked me any questions, so that's perfect.
"So how's school going?" one of Dad's friends asks.
Oh shit, I spoke too soon.
"Fine, thanks." I say, keeping it short and sweet.
"That's good. Does your boyfriend go to the same school as you?" one of dad's friends asks.
"Boyfriend! What boyfriend?" says my father angrily.
You see, I haven't told my dad that Alessandro and I are going out because he gets a bit weird about me and boys. My last boyfriend was in the hospital for a week, but to be fair, he was a dick, so maybe he's a good judge of character, but I just can't take that chance.
I really like Alessandro. And if my dad finds out that it is Alessandro Ferraro, then I may as well live in a cave for the rest of my life, because that would be a better outcome. My dad and Mr. Ferraro, Alessandro's dad, have some sort of rivalry going on,but I don't understand it.
"You know that guy you were hugging and kissing in the shopping mall on Friday night last week," Dad's friend adds.
"Wait, on Friday night you told me you were doing extra homework and going to the library, but you were out shopping with a boy!" dad said, steam almost coming out of his ears.
"I can explain," I started.
"Why didn't you tell me about this boy?" my dad asks
"Why do you always have to make it negative?" I yelled a little bit louder than I was meant to.
"Go to your room. Now," my dad says sternly.
"Thank you," I say to the man who has just ground me for life.
"Watch your mouth!" my father shouts as I approach my room.
I am so angry at this man. I had the best relationship with my secret boyfriend, but now my dad will never let me leave the house. I will be like Rapunzel and have to grow long hair so he can climb up.
I don't know what I should do. Should I tell Alessandro or not? I just don't know. It is probably the right thing to do. Oh, but what if he is busy? But then again, who is busy this late at night? I pick up my phone, my finger hovering over the screen, before I click on his contacts and call him.
Ring ring ring ring.
The call rings, and he doesn't answer.
"What if he's in a meeting?" I wonder aloud.
Pacing my room, I think of all the possible reasons why he wouldn't answer. My hands run aggressively through my hair until I hear my phone ring. I rush over and quickly look over to see Alessandro calling me back. I take a breath before pressing the green button.
"Hello princess," he says happily.
"Um, hi," I say, sounding worried.
"Princess, is everything okay? You sound upset."
"Um, well, my dad found out about us, Alessandro. He's so angry."
"What happened? How does he know?"
"We were having dinner with some of his friends, and one of them saw us on Friday and asked if I had a boyfriend." i say water building up in my eyes.
"I'm so sorry, Y/N; please don't cry."
"But what if he doesn't let me see you anymore?"
"Wait, I have to do something; I will be back," and then he just hangs up.
I can't deal with this right now, so I climb into bed, get under the covers, and curl up in a ball and cry. I don't know how long; maybe 10 minutes. I stayed like that until I heard my window open. I sit up and see Alessandro sneaking in.
"What are you doing here?" I ask, very confused.
"You needed me, so here I am. Here, come and sit next to me," he says, making room for me on the windowsill.
"You know I love you, right?" he asks.
"Yes, I know," I say.
"Good," he says, giving me a kiss on the side of my head and then turning back to face the view.
"Thank you, Alessandro. I thought I was going to lose you."
"You'll never lose me, princess," he says, holding me tighter.
"Let's go out, just the two of us." he suggests, and I can't help but smile.
"Okay," I say, feeling a sense of hope.
We climb out of the window and go for a walk, hand in hand, talking about our future together.
"You know, Princess, when I saw you, I fell in love, and you smiled because you knew."
"Did you just quote William Shakespeare?"
"I have more if you want them."
"Sure, why not?"
"My soul has travelled long and far to find yours."
"That's Ben Maxfield. When did you learn these?"
"When you were sleeping. I saw you had a book of love quotes, so I memorised them all."
"Oh really. Give me one by F. Scott Fitzgerald."
"Hmm. How about, two souls are created together and in love before they're even born. Or how about you have a place in my heart no one else could have."
"I love you," I say.
"Between seas, galaxies and moons, I was lucky to stepped on the same land I dreamed under the same start as you," he replies.
"So you love me too?" I ask.
"Yes, I love you too".
