Chapter 10

The next morning, Hyunjin was the first to wake up. He quietly got out of bed careful not wake Jisung and made his way to bathroom to brush his teeth and freshen up. When he finished he was greeted by Changbin standing outside waiting to use the bathroom.

"Good morning." Changbin said, putting his hand on Hyunjin's shoulder "How are you doing?"

Hyunjin closed his eyes and sighed. "I'm good Bin. Still shook from last night, but I'm good."

"I'm glad to hear that." Changbin says hugging Hyunjin. "What are you gonna do now?"

"I don't know Bin." says Hyunjin "Thing's didn't go the way I planned. I have no idea what to do next."

The 2 part from the hug. "Let's talk about this after breakfast, ok?" says Changbin.

"Ok." says Hyunjin. As Changbin goes to the bathroom, Jisung and Jeongin wake up as well. After they've all freshened up, Changbin pulls out the folding table that he keeps under the bed.

His apartment is so small there's no room for a proper dining area. So he bought a foldable dining set with 4 folding chairs. As they were having breakfast, Jeongin was the first to finish. After washing his plate he decides to go watch t.v.

Jeongin starts going through the channels and happened to stop on a news that was happening. The report was titled "Death at the Hwang Residence."

"Guys!" Jeongin said wide-eyed.

"Innie, what is it?" said Changbin, getting up and walking towards the younger. "Holy shit!" He looks at Hyunjin and Jisung who are still sitting down and looking confused. "Your dad. He's dead!"

"What?!" they both say and get up off their seats at the same time. They all look at the news report. It talks about how their father, who owns a car dealership, and how he's a single parent after his wife died 2 months ago. Then the reporter said how he was stabbed multiple times.

The reporter then shows pictures of Hyunjin and Jisung, saying that they're both missing. Although the neighbors said they saw the 2 boys get in their dad's car and drive off, they said that they could hear a commotion happening inside the house.

The reporter then says that the Hwang brothers are not suspects, but need to be found as soon as possible. Changbin turns the t.v. off after the report finishes. He turns to see Hyunjin and Jisung are as pale as ghosts.

"Jinnie I'm scared!" Jisung says, hugging Hyunjin.

"Hyunjin," says Changbin "Do you think, it was that guy who saved you that did it?"

"I," said Hyunjin "m-maybe. I don't know. Everything happened so fast, and all I could think of was getting us out there." The more Hyunjin thought, the more sense it made. It had to be him.

There was no one else there, plus their dad a knife. Maybe he took the knife and used it on him. Hyunjin took several deep breaths. "We have to go to the police station." he said.

"Hyun?" said Jisung. He was clearly afraid of the outcome if they went to the police.

"It's ok Ji." Hyunjin said stroking his brother's hair. "We simply tell them the truth. We have nothing to hide, so it's fine, ok?"

"Ok." said Jisung. His eyes were starting to water but he used Hyunjin's shirt to wipe his tears.

"Hey, we're here for you." Jeongin said.

"That's right." said Changbin. "What do we always say?"

The boys each put their hands out and stack one on top of the other. "It's us against the world." says Hyunjin.

"Us against the world." they all say in unison.

"Let's go." says Hyunjin as the 4 head out to the police station.

Lee Mansion during the news report:

"Lino, it's them!" says Felix. Both he and Minho were watching the report taking in everything they were seeing. "You don't think they had anything to do with it do you?"

"I'm sure they didn't." says Minho "They don't look like the type that would do something like this. Besides the report said there was someone else in the house as well."

"Maybe their dad had enemies?" Felix says.

"I don't know Lix." says Minho. He starts to think however. "Hwang, Hwang. Why does that sound so familiar?" Then it hits him. "Now I remember! I think he's a business partner of Chan's dad?"

"Really?" says Felix.

"Yeah." says Minho. "Chan says he's been over at his dealership a few times and that he would overhear him talking to his employees about how much he hated his sons and what a burden they are to him."

Tears were running down Felix's cheeks. "That's horrible!" he says "How could he say such things?!" Even though they've never met the Hwang brothers aside from their small interaction the other day, he could tell that they couldn't be capable of such a horrible act. This actually fueled his desire to see them. To hear their side of the story and get to know him more. Felix was sure Minho felt the same way too about Jisung.

Before he could say anything else, Minho's phone started to ring. "It's Chan." he says. He takes the call. "Hey Chan."

"Minho, tell me you're watching the news." says Chan.

"Yep." says Minho. "I was actually planning on calling you."

"Mr. Hwang was one of dad's business partners." Chan said, conforming Minho's suspicious.

"Me and Lix were just talking about that." says Minho.

"So those are boys that caught your eyes?" Chan says. Minho says yes. "I'm usually pretty good about things like this, but I don't think those 2 killed their dad. They don't look like the type."

"I agree." says Minho "And so does Lix."

"Look, I'm sorry to cut this call short," says Chan "but me and Minnie are heading out to the gym now. We wanna get an early start. But hey, we can meet up and have lunch afterwards."

"Sounds like a plan." says Minho.

"And don't worry about the Hwang brothers," says Chan "I'm sure everything will turn out good in the end. Just like when we have to go thru a hard time, what do we always say?"

"It's us against the world." says Minho.

"Us against the world." says Chan "But hey, we gotta go. Talk to you later."

"Bye." says Minho. He hangs up. "Come on Lix. We're gonna meet up with Chan later. Let's go a ride to kill time."

"Ok Lino." says Felix. The 2 got in their SUV and drove off, both of them secretly thinking about the Hwang brothers and how they would love to see them again.
