"He's gone."

Cisco had just got done doing the third check through Central City.

You should have been relieved by those words. You know everyone else was.

The Team was safe.

HR and Tracy were hugging. Caitlin smiled and Joe looked as though he didn't want to let go of his daughter.

It was a great day.

Yet, you weren't in the celebrating mood. You slipped away while everyone was preoccupied. You didn't want to sour the mood. You couldn't sit there and pretend that watching him leave didn't hurt. Maybe it's because you feel indebted to Barry. That seeing any version of him in pain was just hard to swallow. You took a seat in the speed lab, placing your head against the wall.

"I messed up."

You feel pathetic. Although you'd managed to stop Savitar, the dynamic of the team would definitely be different. You briefly contemplated moving to another state. You chuckle at your own thoughts.

"Room for one more."

Barry's voice at the entrance makes your shift. You swallow, nodding a bit cautiously. He sends you that warm smile as he walks. He takes a seat right next to you, and for a moment neither of you say a word.

You aren't sure what to say.

Maybe something along the lines of..

"Sorry for confessing to an evil version of you but hey, at least he ran away."

You wince just at the thought.

"I'm sorry." Barry finally says.

You turn to him.

"Why are you apologizing?"

He runs a hand through his hair.

"I..I should have known. I know what it's like to be in that position and I..." He takes a breath.

"I put you through that. You never said a thing when I would rant to you about how I felt for Iris. Now I feel like a jerk. I kept complaining about being in that situation when you were in the exact same spot as me. I was inconsiderate and insensitive." You shake your head.

"You weren't. Barry, I didn't say those things to make you feel guilty. You never have to apologize for how you feel. I knew the moment I saw you with her how you felt. That's why I never said anything. True love is..it's special. Iris is the one you're supposed to be with. I would never get in the way of that. Love isn't selfish. If you're happy, then I am too."

That was the most honest you'd been in years.

He's stunned by the response, and you laugh, reaching over as you shove his shoulder.

"You think you're the only one who can be cool huh?"

He laughs along, shaking his head.

"You guys having a party without me?"

Iris walks into the lab, and you feel yourself jump upright.

"I-Iris.."

You aren't sure what to say. She's standing right in front of you, and suddenly you feel ashamed.

"Iris I swear I..I."

She hugs you, and your body is tense.

"I'm sorry I never noticed." She mumbles.

Your eyes well up, and you finally register her form, her warmth. You hold on tight, crying in her arms.

"I'm so happy..you're okay.."

You never had siblings. Iris is the closest thing you have to a sister, and just a few hours ago you were sure that she would not be here to talk to you. Laugh with you. Comfort you.

"I love you guys so much.." You convey. Barry stands, hugging the both of you.

"We love you too."

They reply in unison.

Crying feels like the therapy you needed. Returning home that night, you feel much lighter.

You drop your coat, stretching your neck.

It's weird, you're not really sure what to do. Slipping off your shoes, you decide that a bath would be the best option.

Yet when you raise your head, the figure standing before you proves that it might not be the direction your night will lead to.

"Savitar.."
