Chapter 4 B

Entering Star Labs the next morning feels like a task. You're not completely sure how to present the case that you spent all night working on for the team. You're a bit anxious. The second you make it into the cortex you can see the relaxed expressions they all wear.

"Day two and no sign of Savitar. I see that as a win." Cisco comments.

You rub the back of your head awkwardly.

"About that.."

Barry is a bit confused. But then Savitar walks out behind you and everyone seems to shift into fight mode. Caitlin's eyes glow, Cisco raises his hand and HR moves to Tracy's side protectively.

You raise your hand.

"He's not here to hurt anyone, I promise."

They want to believe, because it's coming from you. But no one really stands down.

"What is he doing here?" Barry's tone is sharp, for good reason. You're a bit relieved Iris isn't here cause Barry probably would have attacked first and ask questions later.

"I told him I would help. You all know what he went through, and I know what he tried to do to us. This team. But he came to me. He wants to change, he wants help. So I told him I would."

No one expects that. Whatever reaction they have, you're prepared. You can't expect them to just accept this as reality.

"We can't trust him. He tried to kill Iris! He tried to kill me. " Wally retaliates. You understand perfectly.

"I know that this is hard, but we're supposed to be better than him." You try to reason. It's only when Iris enters the room that you feel most nervous. From her expression it's clear she didn't plan to walk into this.

"Iris I-"

She shakes her head.

She stops in front of Savitar and you can feel the way the room becomes silent.

"(Y/N) trusts you, so against my better judgment I will too. But if you hurt her I'll shoot you myself." You're a bit shocked by the threat.

"Duly noted. Now that we've all become reacquainted, I'm hungry."

He turns and you run after him, grabbing his arm as he halts.

"W-Wait you can't go out like that!"

"Why not?"

"Are you kidding me! You look just like Barry. What are you going to do if you run into officers from the precinct or the captain?"

He made a hand motion.

"Whosh."

He says that with a straight face, and you groan.

"Follow me, we're going to grab some stuff from the archives. We have a bunch of Star labs gear." You pull him by the wrist and Savitar just follows with a frown.

"Is it just me or does he actually listen to her." Cisco states.

"He's afraid of her. (Y/N) can be scary when she's like that. Kind of bossy." Barry says it like he's reliving a memory. Probably one of you lecturing him to take care of himself. Iris smiles.

"We might not have to worry about him staying in line. I think she has it handled."

Wally seems to be the only one who doesn't find the situation humorous.

"So are we just going to pretend that he didn't try to kill all of us?!"

"We're not pretending. I never said we would just accept this. If he steps out of line, we'll stop him. Just like we always do."

Wally isn't fully content with the decision, but he knows that they want to try, so he just grumbles under his breath.
