Sequel of "Come Back...Be Here - Charles Leclerc"
Four years later, Mary and Charles inevitably cross paths again.
Will they rekindle their love? Or are the scars too deep?
London had been great - my parents almost fainted when Charles stood in Oli's doorstep and they saw my ring. It was a wonderful evening and no one stopped smiling. We spent two more days in the city and reminisced about the places we went to when we were dating years ago. We were so young back then, time had really flown. I was a bit sad still that our relationship didn't work out then - but we found our way back together through the strangest turns of fate and for that, I was so grateful.
It was time now to get back home and break the news to Charles' family. Lorenzo knew that I had come to Vegas to see his brother but he didn't know how things had gone since that night. We were lucky as Stéphanie was celebrating her second birthday and the family was all together anyways. We were now standing at Lorenzo and Charlotte's apartment door and when Arthur opened the door his eyes almost fell out of his head. "Is. This. Real." he asked, still in shock. "Who is it?" Pascale shouted from inside. "Salut Maman" Charles said and dragged me inside with him. "AHHHHHHH!!!" Charlotte shouted and Stephanie looked around confusedly. "Ring?" Lorenzo asked amusedly and I held my hand up in the air. "Oh my God, I've been praying for this day for years" Pascale said and burst out crying. Charles was quick and sat down next to her to comfort her. "Well, this is what I call a turn of events" Arthur said and we all smiled. "You're finally going to be my sister!!" he added.
We had a wonderful day celebrating Stéphanie and us. Pascale was crying all the time, not only because Lorenzo and Charlotte were expecting another child, but also because another one of her boys was getting married. Charles and I were now driving back to my apartment and when we had gotten upstairs, we slumped down on the sofas, tired of all the traveling and exciting events of the last few days. "Soooo... Do you still want me to move in with you? Or..." he asked. "I'd very much like that. I think the apartment is big enough for a few nurseries too. Although I'd love to maybe buy a house in the countryside if we have kids one day, I think it would be great for them to also have a place surrounded by trees and nature" I replied. "Yes, we should definitely look into that when the time comes. City life can be overwhelming with kids - and I do hope we'll have some" he said and shot me an adoring look. "Well we better get started straight after the wedding, my biological clock is ticking" I said seriously. "But you look even more beautiful with every day that passes" he said dreamily. "Oh shut up" I said and threw a pillow at him.
The next day, I called Carmen, Kelly, Lily and Lando and invited everyone over for lunch to tell them the news. They definitely didn't expect to see Charles there and the girls completely freaked out when they saw my ring. Carmen and George had brought baby James, who was being entertained by Gabriel. Kelly was now expecting a girl and was due in a month. "I'm so sad that I'm going to miss the wedding" she said to Alex and Lily. The pair was getting married in mid-January in Thailand, but Kelly was due then, so her and Max wouldn't be able to come. "I cannot wait. I've never been to an Asian wedding, this is going to be epic" I said excitedly. "It is! We're going all out for the celebrations, we really hope everyone is going to enjoy themselves" Lily said with a huge smile on her face. "And you guys?" Alex asked us. "In August in Monaco. We hope to settle for a location and precise date now around Christmas" Charles replied while I was beaming with happiness. "Are you going to announce the engagement or some sort of thing?" George asked. "FIA gala is up next week, I think we'll show up together and the ring will be self-explanatory" my fiancé replied and I nodded in approval. "It's going to be a dark day for the female F1 fanbase. Thank God I'll be there to collect all the broken hearts" Lando joked.

"How's my bow tie?" Charles asked me in our hotel room in Paris, where this year's FIA Prize Giving Gala was being held. "Perfect. I love the velvet blazer, Doni did a great job, didn't know he also does a) fitted clothes with b) intact fabrics" I joked. "Good that you like it - I'll tell him to do a special edition morning suit for our wedding, maybe with some ripped trousers?" he joked back, but my face was serious, which just made him laugh. "That dress is way too sexy by the way" he added and was about to kiss me, when his phone buzzed. "Car's here. You ready?" he asked and I nodded.
We made it to the venue and as soon as we got out of the car, the photographers went crazy. I had never walked a red carpet with Charles and I was a bit nervous to see all those cameras. An Italian Sky reporter was quick to find us though and started an interview with Charles and I took a few steps back. "Oop" someone said I stepped on some toes while walking backwards. "Susie! I'm so sorry!" I said and laughed. "Don't worry, I heard the news by the way, I'm so happy for you two. Toto and I are ready to pass on the baton for F1's next power couple" she chuckled. "I could never fill your shoes, you can carry on with that role" I joked back and she laughed.
