🎶 About Love - From The Netflix Film "To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You" — MARINA 🎶

We had made it until here: it was Friday, the day before my wedding to Charles. He had moved in with Arthur for the week so that we wouldn't step on each other's toes and especially because my dress was already hanging in our closet and I didn't trust him at all about him not taking a look at it.

My doorbell rang and I sprang up from my bed, knowing exactly who it was.
"You ready to pack for your honeymoon?" Alice exclaimed and I nodded excitedly.
She had brought croissants and after brewing us two cappuccinos we sat down to have breakfast.
"Nervous?" she asked me and winked.
"About what? The thousand cameras and photographers already lined up on the streets? His fans camping out on the streets? Or do you actually mean my wedding night?" I joked.
Monaco had really gone crazy for this wedding. A few nights ago I had watched the Prince's wedding from 2011 on YouTube and to be honest, the crowds from then seemed to match to what was going on in the streets now.

Alice and I spent a chill morning packing and she managed really well to keep me calm. For lunch, I was meeting my family at the Yacht Club and afterwards we were all off to the last rehearsal at the Cathedral. When I saw Charles there, my eyes lit up - I couldn't wait until tomorrow.
"Hi" I said and kissed him on the cheek.
"God, I'm going to cry any minute" he said and hugged me.
"Oh no, why?! Are you having second thoughts?!" I asked agitatedly.
"NO!" he said loudly and it echoed in the Church, which made everybody turn around. He quickly sent everyone a smile and a thumbs up and turned back to me to speak more quietly: "Of course not! I'm just so nervous, if you had told me a year ago that we would be standing here, I wouldn't have believed you"
I smiled at him and hugged him tightly.

While there were florists and decorators working in the Cathedral, we weaseled around them and went ahead with our rehearsal. Wedding planner Paolo made my grandfather and me walk to the aisle eight times as he wasn't happy with the orchestra's tempo. He also shouted at Joris every time he wasn't standing on the cross he should be standing on as best man and both men were losing their patience with each other, while Charles and Riccardo were laughing and filming the two and posting it on their Instagram stories. Suddenly Carmen burst out in a fit over the phone when George's brother called her that he had forgotten to bring her headband that she had ordered from a British milliner, and now it was too late as they were already at the airport. Oli rehearsed his bible reading five times as Paolo made him repeat it because my brother stumbled over the last step every single time he walked up the stairs. Pascale almost missed everything as all of Charles' family wanted to get their hair done by her today and she was incredibly stressed. Charlotte had made it to the rehearsal and you would never have believed that she had given birth a month ago. Her figure was even more in shape than before the pregnancy and I tried to wrap my head around how she had managed that. Arthur was stressed on the other hand, as a jellyfish had stung him on his neck yesterday while he was swimming. Thankfully, it didn't hurt anymore, but his neck was swollen and his dress shirt that I had gotten him wouldn't probably fit anymore. I had bought the brothers matching shirts with their initials stitched in - but now it would look stupid if Charles and Lorenzo wore theirs and Arthur wouldn't. On top of all of that, my Mum's suitcase was still lost and she was constantly calling some airport service to try and find out where the hell it was.

Everything was very chaotic and I was so relieved when Paolo finally let us go. Charles and I were hosting a dinner tonight for our families and closest friends and I still had to get ready for that. My fiancé drove me home after the rehearsal and the people on the streets were going crazy when they saw us driving around. He stopped under my apartment building and turned off the engine.
"Here, I have something for you for tonight." he said and gave me a parcel.
"Shall I open it now?" I asked and he nodded.
I gasped. In the box was the most amazing diamond necklace with a matching pair of earrings.
"I designed them for you. So I really hope you like them. But then again, I'm sure to have great taste as I'm marrying you" he said and grinned.
"They are incredibly beautiful Charles, thank you. This will be hard to top" I chuckled.
"Oh no, because I have another thing for you. It's the earrings for tomorrow, I really hope you like them too. But you can only open them tomorrow" he said and pushed another parcel into my hands. He had told me months ago that he was giving me a pair of earrings to wear on our wedding day and I was dying out of curiosity.
"You're spoiling me way too much" I said and looked at him.
"You're marrying a fairy tale Prince, so you'll be a Princess and Princesses wear fairy tale jewels" he said and laughed.
I got out of the car and mouthed a "See you later".

We were all seated and having a wonderful dinner and our extended families were getting to know each other better, when Charles suddenly stood up and walked to the piano in the back of the room. I thought it was only there for decoration, but apparently Charles had other plans when he sat down. Before placing his fingers on the keyboard, he spoke up: "Hello and welcome everybody, I hope you're all enjoying yourselves. I just want to thank you, Mary, for all the times you believed in me, even when I didn't and I hope that you will continue to do so in future. I started writing this song for you after that evening where we babysat Chiara together - so yeah, well... here it is"
What followed were the most beautiful four minutes of my life. The whole world around me seemed to blur out and it was just me listening to Charles moving his fingers softly over the keyboard. By the time he had finished, tears were rolling down my cheeks and Carmen was quick to fix my make-up with a tissue before I went over to Charles while everyone was clapping.

"That was the most beautiful thing I have ever heard, thank you" I said to him quietly.
"Ah, well, I can't say that. I like the sounds of you moaning under me more" he whispered and my face turned dark red. He just giggled and that earned him a light slap on his shoulder before we made our way back to our table together.
I gave the waiter a signal as I also had prepared something for Charles and the young boy was quick to bring me a microphone.
I stood up and clinked my fork lightly on my wine glass.

"Hello... can you hear me? Can you hear me? Yes, great. Thank you again, Charles, you really don't know how much joy and happiness you bring to this room with your music, thank you. Most of you know that Charles and I... didn't exactly have the easiest love story, but actually none of you know how we really got engaged:
On a warm November night, on a street in Las Vegas, under the influence of a lot of... love...love, you went down on one knee and asked me to marry you with a San Pellegrino bottle cap. A stranger passing us at the time looked at me, and politely asked me to refuse. 'Do not accept this, make him work for it' she said. And work you did: the same night while dropping us to the cab, because you refused to accept that the night was over, and I refused to accept that it could go on any longer, you profusely told the Uber driver how you were going to marry me. And while that poor guy just cared for his five-star-rating, you even invited him to our wedding - I'll give you a hundred quid Charles, if he actually shows up tomorrow. I leave the rest of the night to your imagination now. - It's... erm... Rated R.
Charles Leclerc, it's not easy being the best thing that has ever happened to you, but I promise to never go to bed angry and to only take the side that has the charger. I promise to work on getting up in the morning and going to the gym with you, but in all honesty: I don't foresee a progress in this area and I just feel I should be honest about that, so, given that info, if you'd like to change your mind, you have 5 seconds. Fivefourthreetwoone, over, sorry. There's no one I'd rather share my life or go to Las Vegas with and that's how I know it's you." I said and everyone cheered and laughed when I was finished. Charles had the biggest smile on his face and stood up to kiss me.
"I love you" he said.
