Bucky's heart was pounding as he paced back to his chambers, ignoring Steve and Loki's piercing glares. He knew they were intrigued as to why the Princess had demanded an audience with him when they so desperately longed for her attention. But right now, he could not care less.

Hydra had found him. Not only had they found him, they were walking around in fucking daylight in the town. They had gone up to the Princess, bold as brass, unafraid for their presence to be known. They had always stayed in the shadows, but something about this was different. They wanted him to know they were there.

Perhaps they were not there for him. Perhaps they had a more devious and darkened plan.

And that made him feel worse.

He had to find out more. He would not stand by and allow them to penetrate his life once more. Especially now an innocent princess was involved. If the King found out about any of this, he had no doubt he would be on the first carriage home in the morning. If he even lived long enough that was.

The Prince saw the tumultuous relationship between the King and the Princess. He did not care for it one bit. He did not like the way the King so easily took a hand to his daughter. He would never dream of doing so to a woman, even his late wife whom he had grown to loathe once he had found out her true identity. He noted how stubborn and frustrating the Princess was and how she broke every stereotype of a royal lady. He appreciated it even, or so he was beginning to think.

His feelings were complex, and messy. Bucky knew he did not belong in a place like this, with people like this. They were too good for him. She was too good for him.

If he really was the reason Hydra were here, he needed to figure out his next move, and fast.

He locked himself behind closed doors as soon as he got to his chambers. The conversation he had just had with the Princess reliving itself over and over in his mind. She had seemed so scared in the memory of her brief encounter with Hydra.

He had to fix this. By any means necessary.

The Princess was furious as she saw Prince Bucky storm out of the room, not even giving her a second look behind him as he left.

The audacity of him to so openly flirt with her, to kiss her, to charm her and then to insult her in the same breath. He was giving her whiplash from the intense emotions. She felt her whole body shake with rage.

Why was he then still occupying so much of her mind? Specifically the feel of his lips against hers...

She shook herself free from those thoughts as Prince Loki peered his head round the corner, beating Prince Rogers to it.
