The Princess broke free from her impure thoughts that were moments ago coursing through her veins.

The knock had firmly cemented her back in reality, making a blush sweep across her cheeks at how carried away she had let herself get.

Taking a deep breath, she traipsed over to the door in her nightgown.

She pulled open the heavy wooden door slowly, trying not to let it creak too much.

She was not sure why, but her heart dropped just a little when she saw who it was.

She peered her head around, careful to hide her body that was covered only in a nightgown.

"Prince Loki." She breathed.

Why was she disappointed, who had she wanted it to be?

Before her stood the mischievous darker haired Prince, his eyes glowing an emerald green by candlelight.

He licked his lips as he saw her looking so casual, from the neck up at least. No crown, no perfectly styled hair, just her.

The Prince's gaze fixated on the part of her clavicle that was bare on display for him. He could see the straps of her silky nightwear.

Her eyes looked a little dazed, and her face reddened. He would pay all the money in the world to be able to come into her quarters right now.

You see, Prince Loki did not like losing competitions. And this was one he deemed he was falling behind in.

He had seen the way she had come back from her training session with Barnes, all doe-eyed and happy. It made the pit in his stomach grow.

He had too much to lose.

Barnes already had claim to his own land, coming from a family of daughters. But he, he had nothing. He was in the shadow of his brother. His legacy would always be second to Thor.

All his life he had felt he missed out because of him. And when he had seen the Princess and spent time with her, he realised perhaps he could finally be a winner.

Love may come, sure, but she was beautiful and bold, and came from a powerful kingdom. So it was the best of both worlds.

He just had to make her see that.

He did not miss the way her expression faltered, just ever so slightly when she opened it.

Truth be told, he was a little drunk on all the wine they'd been drinking all day, and the thought of waiting to see her until tomorrow was not satisfactory for him.

She had looked so beautiful at dinner. He had to have her.

She stood, waiting for him to speak, as he realised she had greeted him with no reply. He smirked, shaking his head slightly of the desire to take away her purity.
