"Hed op oso kru au kom disha maun (lead our people out of this mountain)," I tell Pax, stepping back through the door. I must go back to find Bellamy so that I can help.
Pax furrows his eyebrows. "Where gyon au? (where are you going?)"
"Ai souda biyo chof gon Skaikru (I must say thank you to a sky person)," I say and Pax grabs onto my arm.
He shakes his head. "Yu are seintaim kwelen ait nau (you are too weak right now)."
Pulling out of his grasp, I back away. "Ai souda (I must)."
"Yu na na seen as natrona (you will be seen as a traitor)," he warns. "O dead (or dead)."
I consider this fact for a moment. People walk past me, celebrating the sun on their skin once again. A new sense of purpose buries deep in my chest.
"Ai thought Skaikru en Trikru are gonen together? (I thought Sky Clan and Tree Clan are working together?)" I'm wary of Pax's answer. I would not put it past Heda to work her way around a deal in order to ensure the safety of her people. She has always been admired for that.
"Nou. Emo are scum (No. They are scum)." Venom is laced through his voice.
I wrap my arms around myself, suddenly aware of how completely exposed and unarmed I am, only dressed in the garment covering my chest and butt.
"Dei de 'scum' helped ai! (That scum helped me!)" Not waiting to hear whatever Pax retorts back at me, I turn and venture back into the cave.
The path is a lot more terrifying when I walk it alone, not followed by an army of my people. Still, I find my way back to the chute.
Voices are heard echoing off of the walls.
"All the supplemental oxygen is on level five," says a familiar voice. Maya.
I park around the corner to see Bellamy surrounded by a small group of people I do not know. Maya is in a hazmat suit.
"Then we have to get you to level five," says a boy.
"Level five isn't safe for any of us," Maya replies.
I step out from the shadows and everyone whips their heads to look at me. Bellamy holds up his gun until he sees me more clearly and then instantly points it away.
"Alexis? What are you doing here?" He asks, cautiously approaching me.
I understand him well enough to formulate a sentence back in English. "My people say we no longer help Skaikru." I pause. "But I want to help."
He nods.
"Who is this, Bellamy?" asks a girl with blonde hair. Something about her appearance seems familiar to something I might've recognized pre-Mountain Men, but my brain is too scrambled to put the pieces together.
Bellamy faces the group. "This is Alexis. She's been in Mount Weather for a while now and she helped me escape the cages. I told her to wait for me, but I guess she found me."
I'm not exactly sure what he's saying to them, but I hear my name. "Ai laik Alexis kom Trikru (I am Alexis from Tree Clan)," I introduce.
A girl with dark hair in braids who is dressed like one of my people and bares the face paint of war steps forward, holding out her hand. I don't recognize her, so I can tell she must be one of them. Her attire confuses me, though.
"Ai laik Okteivia kom Skaikru (I am Octavia from Sky Clan). Oso throu daun ogenda (we fight together)," she says to me. She knows Trigedasleng.
