Monty parks the rover by a tunnel and I hope off of my horse, staring through the darkness to the trees on the other side. Bellamy comes out of the passenger side just as Monty steps out of the vehicle.

They both hold guns at the ready while I have my sword in hand.

"You were right about Jasper, okay?" starts Monty. "Is that what you want me to say?"

"Quiet. Keep your eyes peeled," says Bellamy, voice low. I'm glad he carried a softer tone around me. There's a few beats of silence as we walk into the tunnel. "I could've said no."

"He's getting worse, isn't he?" Monty sucks in a breath. "I mean, getting drunk every night is one thing, but smiling with a knife to your throat? That's next level damaged."

I agree with Monty. Jasper needs some form of help if he's to end up different than the people that got swallowed by grief in my village.

Kane walks out of the trees, someone walking beside him.

"Who's he with?" Monty asks.

"Indra," I respond.

"That's Indra?"

"He must've told her we broke the truce-" Bellamy cuts himself off. "Sir! Before you say anything, there was a good reason-"

Kane raises his hand to silence Bellamy. "We'll deal with that later. This is about Clarke."

Bellamy and Monty's demeanor changes at the mention of her name.

"What about her?" Bellamy looks between the two.

"She's being hunted," states Indra.

"By who?" Monty's face is scrunched up in concern.

"By everyone."

"That must include Azgeda," I say, putting the pieces together. "Clarke is Wanheda, Commander of Death, right?"

"Very good," Indra says to me. "We need to discuss."

______

We drop off my horse at Arkadia before heading back out. Bellamy told me he wants me next to him and when I tried to argue, Indra agreed with him and said it would be better if we are all together.

I fiddle with my hands as I sit in the rover, anxious about these 'technology' things Arkadia has. Especially since this vehicle came from Mount Weather.

"I'm still getting used to it myself," Kane tells me, noticing my worry.

"Sir, we're almost out of range," says Monty. "Are you sure you don't want to tell the Chancellor?"

"I'm sure," Kane reiterates. "I don't want to worry Abby until we know something."

"We know there's a kill order," Bellamy says. "You people are big on those." He's talking to Indra, though I feel slight hurt that the same sentence could be directed at me.

"It's not a kill order, it's a bounty," Indra corrects. "Clarke's a symbol, just like Alexis said. The Commander of Death."

"Why are they looking for Clarke?" he asks.

"My people believe that when you kill someone, you get their power," I say, putting emphasis on the fact that they are my people, too.

"Kill Wanheda and you command death," explains Indra.

Kane rubs his hands together. "She's just one girl."

"So was the Commander. What Clarke did at Mount Weather weakened her. The Ice Nation is emboldened. Their queen wants Clarke's power."

Of course. The Ice Queen probably has people everywhere looking for Clarke. And when they find her, there is no way she shall survive.

Indra continues. "If her people believe she has it, she'll break the coalition and start a war." There's a beat of grave silence. "I can't let that happen."

There's a beeping sound from the front of the rover. Monty clicks it off. "Welcome to Sector 7. Where to now?"

"If she's here, she'll need supplies," says Indra. "We'll start at the trading posts."

______

We drive into the night until Monty suddenly slams on the breaks. Looking through the window shield, I see there's a fallen tree in front of us.

"We have to move it," he says.

Bellamy nods and begins to move, but I grab his shoulder. "Wait." I point at the edge of the tree where the clean cut of it is. "It's been cut down."

He looks at me and then stands up to look out through the opening in the roof of the vehicle.

There's a creaking sound before another tree falls down right behind us, hitting the ground with a loud thump and shaking the rover. Bellamy sits back down.

"Definitely cut down," says Indra.

Bellamy, Monty, and Kane get their guns ready as Indra and I draw swords.

Then we wait.

______

"It's been three hours, what are they waiting for?" Bellamy is growing impatient.

"Even with the light, I don't see anyone," says Kane.

"I say we make a run for it," offers Monty.

The sky has gotten lighter and I can feel my own tiredness in my bones.

"No," Kane voices.  "That's what they want us to do."

"The boy is right," Indra joins in.  "They can wait longer than we can."

Kane makes a decision.  "Okay, Bellamy.  You get in the turret and you cover us.  Once we get to that ridge over there," he points, "we'll cover you."

"Copy that," Bellamy agrees.  "Run fast."

My eyes dart to him.  As much as I like being out on duty with him, I'm starting to dislike his constantly heroism.  He brushes my hand with his before peaking out of the 'turret'.

As soon as he's up there, his body freezes.  "They're here."

"Everybody out or the boy dies," says a male voice.

Shit.

Bellamy is pulled up through the opening.

"Bellamy-"

"Okay!" yells Kane.  "Okay, we're coming out!"  He drops his gun and signals for the rest of us to rid of our weapons.  "Don't hurt him."

As soon as Kane opens the back doors, we're all pulled out of the rover.  I'm pushed down to the ground, hands behind my back.  I turn my face to the side and see Bellamy next to me.

He mouths the word 'calm' to me and I nod.

"All targets secure!" says a female voice.

One of the people grab Monty off the ground and grab the red tracking device from him.  "Found it."

Monty struggles.  "It's mine.  Give it back!"

"Monty, let it go!" Bellamy tells him.

"Monty?" says the voice of a woman.

I'm too focused on the sword pressed threateningly close to Bellamy's throat to think about who these people are, but Monty's next word makes it clear.

"Mom?"
