The next day, Bellamy is not as distant. As soon as I decided it was appropriate for me to be up, I got out of bed and went and found Abby. Abby helped me find Octavia, who then helped me find clothes that I would be more comfortable in.

As soon as I was dressed what Octavia called 'badass Grounder', I had headed out to the gate with her where we met up with Bellamy, Monty, and a girl who had a fierce expression on her face.

Bellamy bowed his head at me when I joined the group, not even giving me a verbal greeting. I felt a pit in my stomach.

"I'm Raven," says the fierce girl, holding out her hand. "You must be Alexis. I've heard a lot about you."

I take her hand to greet her. She's heard a lot about me? From who?

"Your name fits you," I tell her.

She smiles, accepting the compliment. "Thanks." She looks at Bellamy. "I like her."

He just chuckles.

The group leaves through the gates and I can't help but feel whole again. I'm back in my traditional clothing, I'm fed, I'm not weak, and I've got a bow strapped to my back next to a quiver filled with arrows. When I mentioned that the bow was my usual weapon, Octavia had made it her mission to get me one.

We're walking through the forest as Bellamy explains what we're out here to do. "Arkadia is running low on meat, so make it a priority to hunt. Berries and seeds you can find will also be useful to bring back for the garden."

"We should split up to cover more ground and do this more efficiently," offers Octavia.

Bellamy nods in agreement. "Monty and Raven go together to look for seeds and berries. Octavia you go down to the creek to look for fish. Alexis and I will look for deer and other animals."

My chest flutters when I realize he wants us in a group together. Maybe he doesn't hate me.

The group splits off and Bellamy and I walk side-by-side. His feet are loud on the ground and I think he manages to step on every single stick and branch that's in our path.

I think hard before speaking so that I can make sure I say my words in the right order. "Try to walk heel then toe to be quiet."

"Are you giving me lessons on forest etiquette now?". His tone is playful. It makes me relax.

I'm not sure what 'etiquette' means, but the sentence still makes sense to me without the word. "If you want, yes."

He walks more slowly, more cautious with how and where he steps. Then he stops to listen and watch me walk.

I make no noise as I move.

"How do you do that?"

I stop. "Do what?"

"You move like a panther. Like part of the forest," he says.

Shrugging, I offer the best advice I can give. "Won kom tri (One with the tree)."

I hear a noise and my head swivels to find the source. There's a deer a few feet away from us, chowing on some grass and unaware.

I bring a finger to my lips to tell him to be quiet. Taking out my bow and an arrow, I breathe in slowly to perfect my aim.

My fingers let go of the string and the arrow flies, sinking right into the neck of the deer. It makes a sound a takes a step forward before toppling over to the ground.

When I take my eyes off of the deer, Bellamy is beaming at me. "That's incredible," he tells me.

I blush, flustered at how intently he's looking at me. "Eh. Done that since ai don ste a goufa (I was a child)."

I walk through the trees and step over a log, staring down at the deer that lies dead on the forest floor. My hand yanks out the arrow and I wipe the blood off on my pant leg and stick it back into my quiver.

"I'll help you carry it and we can drop it off at Arkadia." He bends down and then pauses, looking at me. "I need more forest lessons," he adds.

On the walk back to Arkadia with the deer, Bellamy began teaching me about English words, insisting that his lessons would pay for my forest lessons.

"Then you need learn Trigedasleng," I say after Bellamy gets done talking about the importance of 'transition words' like to, and, a, but.

"I will," he states. "I want to."

We drop the deer off at the gates and Kane slaps an approving hand down onto Bellamy's shoulder.  "Nice," he endorses.

Bellamy shakes his head and then looks at me.  "All her, Kane.  She's a great hunter.  We need her on the team regularly."

Kane's hand slides off of Bellamy's shoulder and the proud look on his face doesn't falter.  "I'm very glad you're fitting right in.  I'll have you added to the team officially."

I grin happily.  "Thank you," I say, feeling accomplished.

He bows his head as a goodbye and walks away.  Bellamy and I turn away and walk back out toward the forest.

I'm glad I got Kane's approval, especially since he seems like an important figure here at Arkadia next to Abby.

But how long will I be staying here?  Do they not expect me to return home?  I haven't really thought about the aspect of returning back to Trikru.

Bellamy notices my chance in mood and glances sideways at me.  I've only known him for around a week, and two days of that week were spent unconscious, but he's still managed to pick up on all of my body language and habits.

"Do you think ai will kom daun (return) hou?" I know Bellamy does not know the last word, so I say it again in what I know to be the English translation.  "Home?"

His facial expression shifts to serious as his eyebrows draw together.  "Do you want to?"

"Pax don biyo - he said - ai was a natrona (traitor)," I say, not really answering his question.  "Ai don ban au ai (I left my) people to help you."

I look over and can practically see the wheels turning in his head.  "So you're banished?"

I shrug my shoulder.  "Do not know.  Mebi (maybe) Pax did not tell."

"Who is Pax?" he asks curiously.  We're walking in the woods now and Bellamy is snapping tree branches with his feet again.

I lightly hit his shoulder and point at his feet.  "Loud." The ghost of a smile crosses his face as he fixes himself and walks quieter, mimicking my steps.  "Pax is... close friend."

"Do all your close friends call you a traitor?" There's a hint of... jealousy in his voice?

"Pax is serious hashta rules (about the rules)," I defend.

"Ah, I see," Bellamy says.

I scan the trees above us, admiring the leaves and the way the sunlight finds its way through the gaps.  There's a small gathering of birds atop a trees.

I put my hand out to the side and press it against Bellamy's chest, stopping him.  He looks down at my hand, surprised at the touch.

"Watch," I tell him.

I stoop down to grab a small rock from the forest floor and take my bow off of my shoulder and load an arrow.  Reeling back, I throw the rock so that it bounces off near the top of the tree with the birds and they scatter.  With graceful haste, I shoot an arrow at one of the birds and it drops out of mid-air just as I shoot at another, which also falls to the ground.

My hands lower the bow and I glance at Bellamy, who's already looking at me, a smirk on his face.  "Okay, now you're just showing off."

I smile slyly.  "Maybe."
