Brooke
As I watched Denisha storm out of the room, I couldn't help but feel a whirlwind of emotions. "What the hell just happened?" I muttered to myself, my voice barely audible in the midst of the lingering tension. Ramon, Jamal, Paris, and Renee were still in the room, and their varying reactions mirrored my own confusion.
Ramon chimed in, clearly trying to make sense of the situation. "Right? She's so ungrateful."
Jamal nodded in agreement, "For real."
I couldn't shake the weight of Denisha's words and the raw anger in her voice. I wanted to defend myself, to explain my intentions, but the words felt trapped, suffocated by the chaos of the moment.
Paris, however, broke the silence, and her unexpected perspective sent shockwaves through the room.
"Um, I don't think she's ungrateful. I just think she's being reasonable," Paris ventured, her voice calm amidst the confusion.
The collective response was instantaneous, almost comical. "What?" we all exclaimed in unison.
Paris shrugged, her courage unwavering. "I didn't want to say it because she was here, but I think what she was saying made sense."
Renee chimed in, adding her own perspective. "Yeah, me too. It kind of made sense what she said. I just didn't want to call you out in front of her."
I couldn't contain my disbelief. "How the hell does that make sense?" I retorted, my frustration bubbling up once again.
Paris persisted, her voice steady. "Well, first of all, it was her business. She decided to walk away. You didn't have to go and do what you did. If you really wanted to help her, you could have gone to her and asked her whether she's comfortable with what you're about to do or something like that."
Renee nodded in agreement with Paris's point of view. "And Brooke, you know, I love you. And then I know you just wanted to defend her. I know your intentions were right. But then you really went about it the wrong way because you did this without taking into consideration how she feels."
What does that mean
"It is her matter with the boy. If she decides to walk away, that's the path she chose. Maybe her power was in walking away.
You like to face things headstrong, but maybe that's not her. Maybe her way of showing power is walking away without looking back. You made a spectacle out of nothing."I sighed, a mixture of guilt and frustration weighing me down. "I know, but she's such a little..." I started, but my voice trailed off.
Then, unable to hold back any longer, I burst out, "I was just trying to help. She's such a fucking cunt. I'm sorry. Like, I get her. I get her perspective. But then she's fucking disgusting for bringing up my parents. What the fuck was that about?"
Paris, trying to provide context, intervened gently. "Look, I don't think she knows that your parents and your family are dead."
"Uh I mean even though it was literally an international news that the Aries priestess and family had been murdered by robbers. Let's give her the benefit of the doubt " Ramon smiled sarcastically backing me up
I put my face in my hands, overwhelmed by a torrent of emotions. "Okay, but you don't just bring up someone's parents in a fight, regardless of your knowledge of their family. I'm so sorry. Like, I get what you're saying. Trust me, I get you. I just really do not give a fuck enough to apologize. In fact, I think she should come and apologize to me. "
"You know she wouldn't" Paris laughed
"Like, I'm sick. I'm literally very fucking sick right now. And then she walks in here like a fucking ostrich and starts running her mouth."
Renee couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation. "And then, oh my God, let's talk about how Celeste, that snake, follows her outside."
Paris joined in the laughter. "Like, right. I'm sure by now, they are talking about how fucking annoying you are."
My frustration reached a boiling point, and I yelled, stuffing my face into the pillow, trying to drown out the banter. The room fell into an uneasy silence.
Then Damien, who had been a quiet observer so far, spoke up, shifting the focus of the conversation. "So are we just going to ignore the display of power she showed by raising Hayden in the air and literally breaking his bones into pieces?"
Everyone's eyes slowly shifted to me, and I reluctantly moved my face from the pillow to look at Damien. "What the fuck are you even doing here? Get the fuck out of our room. You are not a friend. You're fucking annoying. Get out."
Undeterred, Damien replied, "Okay, calm down. Like, I'm just trying to help."
"I do not need your help," I snapped.
He said, "Okay, sure, I'll go."
"Yeah, fucking leave. The fuck. "
I hope you get better soon," he muttered moving close to me as if coming for a hug
"What the hell" my patience stretched thin as he enveloped me in a forceful hug and kissed my forehead.
The room became hot. Ramon
Damien laughed giving a slight salute and left the room
Paris stared at me, concern in her eyes. "What the fuck is going on between you and Damien?"
I shrugged . "Nothing. That boy is so fucking annoying. Like, all of a sudden, he's been pestering me."
Renee looked at Ramon, who frowned at me. "What do you mean he has been pestering you?" she asked.
I rolled my eyes, trying to brush off the subject. "I don't know. He just keeps on following me around and accidentally bumping into me," I said, air quoting the 'bumping into me' part.
Jamal, in his usual teasing manner, chimed in. "Wait, do you think he likes you?"
I scoffed, growing increasingly agitated. "I don't know. I don't give a fuck. I don't care. All I'm saying is, I'm fucking tired. All of you should leave my room."
Paris pointed out, "It's our room too."
I groaned and stuffed my face back into the pillow, my frustration and exhaustion finally catching up with me.
Ramon, showing compassion, spoke up. "We will leave you to rest. If you're not feeling well, just call us, and we'll go to the Alecrist together."
I nodded, my eyelids heavy with fatigue. Ramon started combing his hands through my hair, and I couldn't help but sniffle.
Just as I was beginning to drift into an uneasy sleep, the door burst open, and Maylee stormed in. "Brooke, you are such a fucking snake."
I groaned, not wanting to engage in another argument. "Not again, Ares, not again."
Maylee, unrelenting, demanded answers. "What's the problem? What's going on between you and Damien? And why did I just see Damien leaving the room with a smile on his face? Are you fucking him? You slut."
I buried my face in the pillow, feeling the weight of yet another confrontation. This day had taken a toll on me, and I longed for a moment of peace and understanding. But it seemed like chaos was determined to follow me, no matter where I turned.
