Brooke
I lay there, still processing everything that happened my weird power, Denisha's confrontation everything seemed to be going in an opposition direction , when the door burst open, and Maylee stormed in. Her eyes were ablaze with anger, and her voice held a sharp edge as she unleashed her fury.
"Brooke, you are such a fucking snake!" Maylee's words hit me like a slap in the face, and I sat up, bewildered and caught off guard.
"What's the problem?" I stammered, struggling to comprehend her sudden outburst.
Maylee didn't hold back, her voice rising with each word. "What's going on between you and Damien? And why did I just see Damien leaving the room with a smile on his face? Are you fucking him? You slut!"
My heart pounded in my chest as I attempted to explain, my voice trembling with a mix of frustration and confusion. "Maylee, you've got it all wrong. Damien has been following me around, and I have no idea why. I'm not involved with him in any way. You know that."
But Maylee was unrelenting, her anger refusing to subside. "You expect me to believe that? You're always getting yourself into some mess, Brooke. I can't believe I ever thought you were a friend."
The room had grown tense, and our friends, who had witnessed the confrontation, attempted to mediate. Ramon stepped forward, his voice calm and soothing. "Come on, guys, let's all take a step back and calm down. Fighting like this won't solve anything."
Paris joined in, her voice gentle but firm. "Maylee, Brooke, you're both upset right now. Let's not make things worse."
But Maylee was unmoved, seeing our comforting gestures as manipulation. She turned her anger toward me once more, hurling insults that cut deep. "You're just trying to make everyone feel sorry for you, aren't you? You're such a fake."
Tears welled up in my eyes as I tried to hold them back, my voice quivering. "Maylee, please, just leave. I can't deal with this right now."
"Of course you can't deal with this right now because everything just has to happen when you want it to happen right?"
"What are you even talking about Maylee, you're my bestfriend I would never betray you like that"
"What I'm seeing says otherwise" she huffed
"Maylee... please I hate Damien, I don't even know why you like him he's such a dick to you "
"Come on maylee do you really think Brooke would have an affair with Damien " Jamal said trying to calm her down
In response, Maylee headed toward the door, her anger still simmering. "Fine, Brooke. Enjoy your little pity party."
As she stormed out, I took a deep breath, attempting to regain my composure. I turned to our friends, who had been caught in the crossfire. "I'm sorry , I just need some time alone."
Ramon, Paris, Renee, and Jamal offered me comforting hugs, reassuring me that they understood. "Take your time, Brooke," Ramon said. "We'll be here for you."
With their support, I politely asked them to leave the room, feeling emotionally drained from the confrontation. Once they were gone, I lay back down, my mind racing with thoughts of the tumultuous day.
Exhausted and overwhelmed, I closed my eyes and, eventually, drifted into an uneasy sleep once more.
I stood in an otherworldly place that felt worlds apart from the Zodiac. The environment exuded a sinister, purple-hued vibe, shrouding everything in an eerie, ethereal glow. It was a grand hall, opulent and filled with people who reveled in celebration.
Voices filled the air, and the atmosphere buzzed with anticipation. My heart raced as they spoke of a prophecy-the prophecy of the stolen heir. I strained to catch the words, but they slipped through my grasp like smoke.
And then I saw him-the dark figure with white hair. This time, he appeared completely ordinary, blending effortlessly into the crowd. Everyone around me seemed oblivious to my presence, lost in their own revelry, except for him. His gaze locked onto mine, and I couldn't look away.
As the discussion continued, he excused himself from the group, and I couldn't resist following him. He reached for my arms, pulling me away from the throng. My back met a door, and I was trapped in his captivating gaze.
"You activated your witch powers?" he inquired, his voice laced with fascination.
My mind swirled with confusion. "Witch? What are you saying?"
I couldn't tear my eyes away from his striking figure, silver-white eyes holding me captive. He leaned closer, his breath a whisper against my ear. "Not right now, Red. This isn't the right place."
Anxiety gnawed at me as I pressed for answers. "Wait, who are you, and where am I?"
He looked around before responding, his eyes shifting from white to black. "I said, not the right place."
My unease deepened as I questioned further. "What do you mean I'm a witch?"
He sighed, his eyes returning to their silver-white hue. "I'll explain later, but you're in danger if you stay here."
Desperation clawed at me as I tried to comprehend his cryptic words. "What do you-"
But he cut me off with a promise. "We will meet again." With that, his hands gently cradled my face, and he muttered words that felt both strangely familiar and utterly foreign.
Suddenly, I awoke, my heart pounding with an inexplicable sense of foreboding.
"What the fuck was that"
