Denisha
I watched with a sense of satisfaction as Brooke walked out of the classroom, her shoulders slumped, her eyes filled with sadness. It was clear that my plan was beginning to take shape, and the rift between her and Maylee was widening. I couldn't help but smile, my heart dancing with a twisted sense of victory. This was just the beginning of the web we were weaving, a web that would ensnare them all.
As the evening descended and anticipation for the night's events grew, I decided to give Celeste a call. My fingers dialed her number, and I waited for her to answer.
"Hello?" Celeste's voice came through the phone.
"Hey, Celeste, how are you?" I asked, wanting to catch up before discussing our plans for the evening.
"I'm good, Denisha. I was helping with the decorations but we're done now " she replied with a touch of excitement in her voice.
"You're already the party? I thought we were supposed to dress up together"
"Yes, I wanted to make sure everything was set before you arrived "
I could hear the music in the background, indicating that the party was already in full swing. "Sounds like things are getting lively over there. What's going on?"
Celeste chuckled. "Maylee's gone all out with the decorations and music. It's going to be an amazing night."
"Are you drunk?"
"Only a little bit" she giggled
"That's great to hear. Now, about our plans for the evening," I began, shifting the conversation to the important matter at hand.
Celeste interrupted before I could continue. "Denisha, I have a bit of news. I brought in some extra help for the sleep potion, just to make sure it goes smoothly."
I was taken aback by this unexpected development. "You added someone without telling me first?"
Celeste's voice held a hint of apology. "I didn't mean to, Denisha, but I wanted to ensure everything goes perfectly. I asked Jasper to assist us. He's in the fifth grade, but he's trustworthy, I promise."
I sighed, understanding the need for caution. "Alright, Celeste, but please, next time, let me know beforehand."
She quickly agreed
"They are fast asleep. You should see their miserable faces"
"How long will the sleeping potion last "
"As long as we want it to" I heard a voice..it was probably the jasper guy she was talking about
"How long do we have till the rest of the party arrives"
"About 40 minutes, but no one is on time to a party"
"That's great. Bye"
As I hung up, I couldn't shake the sense of unease about this unexpected addition to our plan.
Brendaline, my shimmer helped me choose a dress for the evening. I wanted to make a statement, but I also wanted to blend in. I decided on a flowing midnight-blue gown that shimmered like a moonlit sea. The dress had delicate silver embroidery that trailed along the bodice, catching the light with each step. It accentuated my curves while allowing me the freedom to move comfortably.
Personally I didn't understand why she'd combine a ball with a sleepover but I guess stupid people always did stupid things
"Brendaline, what do you think?" I asked, twirling in front of the mirror.
