2. A Peck of Owls

Lilly's POV
I got a letter from Dumbledore saying, "The events you saw have become quite real. I am pursuing to get him a trial, which you will need to participate in, I would hope to have you retrieve Harry from Privet Drive. Thank you."
I sighed and said in frustration, "I'm going to kill Mundungus!" Neville looked at me questioningly. I showed him the letter and said, "Mundungus Fletcher is supposed to be watching Harry tonight. Dumbledore wanted to have someone at all times keep an eye on Harry since the events last year. I was able to take the night off, but now I am regretting that a bit because I have to seem on Harry's side and also the Ministry's side since Dumbledore is going to get a trial to be on next Wednesday!" I sighed and rubbed my eyes. Neville pulled me close, hugged me, and rubbed my back soothingly.
He said, "It's going to be okay. I just feel bad that you have to deal with it."
I kissed his lips saying, "Hey, I brought myself into this, it's not your fault. Thank you though, Neville... I better go, I have a job to do..."
He asked, "What is it?"
I said, "Rescuing Harry of course... I am terribly sorry to leave, Neville, I wanted to spend all of the week with you as a extended birthday present, I'm sorry..."
He smiled kissed me and said, "You have a job to do, I had you on my birthday and that was all that mattered. It was a fun trip." I smiled at the memory, I took him to a forest with a huge lake and we looked at plants. I said goodbye to him and his grandmother. I said before I left, "I'll see you soon as I can..." I smiled and left to go to Headquarters.

We still had things to discuss at the meeting as well. Dumbledore wanted advice on what to do and I said, "In three days time, we will pick him up. I would say it would be safe if we had an advanced guard and then a back up just in case." We continued to converse and plan that.
