35. Beyond the Veil

Lilly's POV
Black shapes emerged and the drawing voice had belonged to Lucius Malfoy, he said, "To me, Potter." I whipped my head around, we were all outnumbered. Two to one, Lucius repeated, "To me, Potter."
"Where's Sirius?" demanded Harry. Many Death Eaters laughed and one said triumphantly, "The Dark Lord always knows!"
"I want to know where Sirius is!"
"I want to know where Sirius is!" Mimicked a woman to his left.
the Death Eaters closed in and Harry started to panic, he said, "You've got him, he's here. I know he is."
"The little baby woke up frightened and fort what it dwelled was twoo," said the horrible woman in a mock-baby voice. Harry tried to say a few things to us and the woman cackled with laughter.
"You hear him? You hear him? Giving instructions to the other children as though he ethics of fighting us!"
"Oh, you don't know Potter as I do, Bellatrix. He has a great weakness for heroics; the Dark Lord understands this about him. Now give me the prophecy, Potter."
"I know Sirius is here, I know you've got him!"
They laughed and Lucius said, "It's time you learned the difference between life and dreams, Potter, now give me the prophecy, or we start using our wands."
Harry said, "Go ahead, then!" No one attacked, we all held up our wands and Lucius said, "Hand over the prophecy and no one need get hurt." Harry laughed and said, "Yeah, right! I give you this - prophecy, is it? And you'll just let us skip off home, will you?"
The woman screached "Accio Proph-" Harry was read for her, he shouted, "Protego!" It slipped to his tips, but he held it in his grasp.
Lucius was yelling at the woman and she said, "Oh, he knows how to play, little bitty baby Potter. You need more persuasion? Very - well, take the smallest one, let him watch while we torture the little girl. I'll do it."
I didn't know if she was referring to Ginny or me, but Harry stepped in front of Ginny and Neville pulled me behind him. I grasped his hand and he held mine; he was shaking a bit. The woman through off her hood and it was Bellatrix Lestrange!
Harry said, "You'll have to smash this I'd you want to attack any of is. I don't think your boss will be too pleased if you went back without it, will he? So, that kind of prophecy are we talking about anyway?"
Harry tried to keep her talking, but he said Voldemort's name which set Bellatrix off. Harry kept on talking and I opened his mind, Luna, Hermione, Ron, and Neville's mind. I said urgently, "We can talk freely, but only for moments. Hurry!" He said, "Smash all the shelves when I yell." I said, "Whatever happens guys, I'm glad you guys were my friends. It was fun while it lasted..." I broke the connection and the Harry yelled, "NOW!" All of us yelled, "REDUCTO!" We all ran and shouted "Stupefy!" Harry, Hermione, Neville, and I ran down to find the door and Hermione yelled, "Colloportus!" The door sealed itself and Hermione wanted to know where Luna, Ginny, and Ron were. Neville, still holding my hand, whispered, "Listen!" The Death Eaters were regrouping and I said, "We need to move!" We ran into a room towards the exit and hid.
Two Death Eaters followed us in. Harry attacked one, but the other was just about to kill Hermione and Harry jumped on him. While Harry was struggling with the Death Eater Neville said, "Expelliarmus!" Harry's and the Death Eater's wands flew out of their hands down the hall and Neville tried to rectify it, but the Stunning went over the Death Eater's shoulder. Hermione finally caught up to them after I was dealing with the other Death Eater, I tied him up and stole his wand.
After I caught up with them we ran, two more Death Eaters found us, and we were knocked off our feet with the Impedimenta spell. Hermione and I slammed into bookshelves, Neville disappeared, and Harry slammed into a stone wall. Hermione got hit with something I had no idea what it was. Neville's wand and nose broke and I finally woke up. I Petrified Dolohov. Neville and I dragged Hermione while Harry took point protecting us.
We finally found the others. Ron was acting weird and then wanted to touch one of the brains in the tank. He Summoned one to him and then we had to get it off of him. More Death Eaters came and Neville tried to help, but he couldn't talk properly. We tried our best to fight, but everything turned black. I ran back with Neville after we got the others to safety. I waited for the right moment. Neville was brave, but he got himself captured. Harry didn't give the prophecy and Neville kept on telling Harry not to hand it over and then Bellatrix said, "No, no, no, no let's see how long Longbottom lasts before he cracks like his parents... Unless Potter wants to give us the prophecy. " Neville kept inturrupting and then Bellatrix raised her wand. "Crucio!" I heard his screams and I ran towards Bellatrix, my shield protecting me, she stopped hurting Neville and then she said, "Crucio!" I was screaming in agony and I couldn't stop. Then someone dropped down and Neville pulled me away.
It was Sirius, he came to us and I yelled, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?! YOU PROMISED!" I grabbed his hand and he said, "I'm sorry, I love you!" He kissed my forehead and I held on. I said, "I love you, Dad." I tried to keep him here, but he tugged away and I had his ring in my hand. I ran helping Harry drag Neville down the stairs and the Prophecy shattered. Neville saw Dumbledore and then I saw Sirius. He was battling Bellatrix and he was laughing at her for not being good enough.
I saw a green light. I ran to him and he fell through the arch. I screamed in agony. This was worse than the Cruciatus Curse, worse than seeing Neville under the Cruciatus Curse (almost worse), and this was worse than knowing when I would die.

I had just lost my father for the second time in my life and I knew, he wasn't coming back...
