33. Fight and Flight

Lilly's POV
Malfoy sat on a chair gloating and I sprang up after I saw Hermione and Harry go into the forrest, stole my wand and Harry's from him. They started shooting spells and me and I laughed. They just disappeared into thin air. I laughed, "Now come did you really think that I would be stupid enough not to have a defense on. My emergency defense shield is still active because I'm still healing. See I can hurt you, but you can't hurt me; see how that is potentially problematic for your situation." I petrified Malfoy and stunned all the other Slytherins. I said to the others, "Go, Malfoy and I are going to have a little chat!" They ran off and I said, "Ah, Draco..." I unpetrified him and said, "The others can't hear us. Now, I'm pretty certain that you are mad at me." He yelled, pointing an accusing finger at me, "You lied to me!" I said, "Yes, I did," nodding, "Draco, you will soon understand that people have a choice in this world. You can either do as you're told or decide what to do. I had the option of staying still, not doing anything. I decided to take action and stand up for what I know is the right choice. You have many choices like that in the near future, so now is the time to understand that those choices will follow you throughout your life and they will also define who you are." He turned away and ran his hand through his hair. I said, "I'm sorry." He ran towards me, but I petrified him again saying, "Good luck next year, Draco..." I kissed his cheek and walked out, following my friends...
I was able to catch up with them, they were how we escaped and how Harry and Hermione escaped. Umbridge was taken away by a herd of centaurs and Grawp helped Harry and Hermione escape the herd.
Neville, Ginny, and Luna wanted to come with us, they kept for protesting and then Harry kept protesting with Ron and Hermione as well. Neville finally said, "We were all in D.A. together. It was all supposed to be about fighting You-Know-Who, wasn't it? And this is the first chance we've had to do something real - or was that all just a game or something?" Harry said no and Neville replied simply, "Then we should come too, we want to help." Harry was still protesting when I finally said, "Harry, whether you like it or not they are coming with us, so stop fighting it and everyone find a thestral!"
