I was brushing my hair tonight before bed, while on call with Alya. We were planning a Halloween party to welcome the new season.

"What if it's at your house would your parents let you?" Alya asked.
"Uh depends I would have to ask. I think they'd probably be open though, as long as it's not on a school day and the bakery is closed."
"Okay okay let's figure out the guest list first." Alya says.
"Obviously not Lila" I laugh.
"Yeah.. she might freak out if she finds out Felix is going though."
"Should we just not invite him?"
"What, No! He's Nino's best friend it would be rude not to. I'll just tell him not to tell Lila."
"Fine fine so we're inviting our whole class right?"
"Let's just invite as much people as we can. Can you write down the names so we don't forget."
"Okay"
"So, Nino"
"Nino," I repeat while writing it down.
"Felix"
"Felix."
"Rose"
"Rose."
"Ivan"
"Ivan."
"Mylene"
"Mylene."
"Sabrina"
"Sabrina."
"Juleka"
"Juleka."
"..I guess we can invite Chloe"
"Chloe."
"Nathan"
"Nathan."
"Marc"
"Marc."
Alya pauses for a second.
"How 'bout Luka?"
"Lu-"
I pause mid writing.
"OH MY GOD I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT HIM@!?:$"
Alya giggles.
"You really haven't talked to him since you first met?"
"I've just been so caught up lately."
"Well make your move girl, he can't wait forever. You gotta let him know you care."
"You're totally right. This party is a great way to get to know him better, and plus he'll meet my friends! It's perfect."
"Alright, you go girl! It's getting pretty late we'll talk another time okay?"
"Kay bye."
"Bye"
I close the call and lay on my bed letting out a big sigh. How much boy drama can a girl get in just a month and a half?
"Oh Tikki, what should I do?" I ask as she flies next to me.
"Maybe you shouldn't use Luka as a distraction from your feelings. You learned the first time that doesn't work."
"Luka's not a distraction. I genuinely like him and wanna get to know him more. The only problem is Chat Noir coming into my life trying to make things complicated."
"You have to ignore him Marinette."
"I know! I know! I am keeping things professional but ughh why does he have to wreck my life!" I yell while plopping into my pillow, "what a fucking.... trickster. That boy really deserves a reward for how well he devices people."
"It'll be fine, Marinette. You're stronger than you think, and I'm sure it was a misunderstanding you can work it out."
"Whatever Tikki. I'm gonna call Luka real quick to inform him about the party."
I sit up straight on my bed and fix my hair.
Should I do call text or video? ... video seems the most bold. He has to know I care.
I check my reflection to take notice of any imperfections, once I felt confident enough I called his number. After a few seconds he answered, which stunned me a bit.
"Oh, Luka. I didn't think you'd be up this late" I said.
His eyes were fixated on a blue screen. He was fidgeting with a game controller while wearing a headset, sitting comfortably on a couch.
He smirked at my comment.
"But you still called."
He pauses his game then takes his phone in his hand.
"So what's up? We haven't talked since we met"
"Sorry about that just been busy, but I was hoping we could catch up. Me and some school friends are having a party and I was wondering if you would come."
"What typa party we talking about?"
"A Halloween party. And you have to bring a costume or no entry"
He laughs
"Costumes aren't usually my thing but I'll see what I can do... the important thing is what you'll be wearing," he says while putting his arms behind his head showcasing his veins.
"...Well I haven't decided yet you'll have to wait and see"
"I like a good surprise"
"....Well I gotta go. I just called to get that out of the way. I really want some sleep."
"Oh yeah yeah. I totally respect that..."
"Kay"
"..w-wait, Marinette."
"Yea?"
"Umm are you still up for those guitar lessons or was it just an excuse to get my number"
"I actually think it's a really cool instrument"
"Haha alright. Good night Marinette."
"Good night Luka, thanks for giving me your time."

The next morning I rushed out of bed and headed down stairs.
"Good morning Marinette" my mother beams.
"Oh hey I didn't think you guys would be up this morning," I say while stuffing blueberry pancakes in my mouth.
"By the way there's something I've been meaning to ask you. Is it okay if some friends come over Saturday?"
"Of course!" My dad immediately said.
"Are you sure you don't mind?"
"Why not? You're allowed to have fun. The Bakery's closed anyways."
"Thank you sooooo much!!" I exclaimed.
