Chapter 9: Shopping and gunfire

The next morning

8am

CARLOS'S POV

I woke up to see Astraea sleeping in my arms. I put some distance between us. We probably ended up like that while moving around. She looks pretty even when asleep. Fuck I really wanna kiss her. Just as I was admiring her beauty, her eyes fluttered open. I pretended to have just woken up too. She yawned and rubbed her eyes, adjusting to the light coming into the room through the curtains.

Astraea: Buongiorno. (Good morning.)
Carlos: Buongiorno. (Good morning.)
Astraea: Sto andando a fare shopping con Lexi e Carmella. (I'm going shopping with Lexi and Carmella.)
Carlos: Allora dovresti probabilmente prepararti. (Then you should probably get ready.)
Astraea: So che il letto è troppo comodo. (I know but the bed is too comfortable.)

I chuckled. She's so cute.

Astraea: *sleepily* Your morning voice is hot.

I blushed at the sudden comment. She widened her eyes in panic, realising what she just said.

Carlos: Thanks. Now, get up.
Astraea: No~. Five more minutes.
Carlos: Okay.

I got up from bed. She whined, pulling me back.

Carlos: Princesa (Princess), you have to get up.
Astraea: And I will, in five minutes.

I laughed and stood up again.

Astraea: *sighs* Okay I'm up.

She sat up in bed, stretched her arms and stood up. She suddenly froze, her face covered in panic.

Astraea: Did we...
Carlos: No. You just asked me to stay with you because you were scared to sleep alone and we ended up falling asleep. But I move around in my sleep which is probably how we ended up close to each other.

She let out a sigh or relief.

Astraea: Okay, please leave so that I can shower and get dressed.
Carlos: As you wish, Princesa.

She blushed and smiled. She took her stuff and went into the shower. I decided to go shower in my room. I got dressed in an all black outfit and then I came back to her room. I knocked on the door and she gave me permission to walk in. She just came out of the walk-in closet.

Astraea: Oh, you're back.
Carlos: Yeah, looks like I was too late though.

She rolled her eyes and smiled.

Carlos: Did you just roll your eyes at me?
Astraea: Uh...yes?

She smiled nervously. I walked towards her. She ran past me to the door. I grabbed her hand and pulled her towards me.

Carlos: Why are you running away from me Astraea?

I started tickling her. She laughed uncontrollably, squirming in my arms.

Astraea: S...stop!

I continued to tickle her and she continued to laugh, struggling to get out of my grasp. Tears started trickling down her face as her urge to fight back weakened.

Astraea: Carlos, I'm sorry! I won't roll my eyes again.

I laughed and stopped tickling her. She caught her breath, wiped the tears of laughter and looked at me with a smile.

Carlos: Oh I never said you shouldn't do it ever. As long as I'm making you roll your eyes, it's fine.

She blushed and turned her face away from mine. My heart pounded in my chest. Did I really just say that? But damn, she's cute when she's flustered like this.
