Chapter 58

REMO POV

I wake up to Avery shaking me. My ribs are clearly broken and I'm having trouble breathing but I wasn't shot in the head thanks to Ria. It really hurts to inhale. I can't think of of my health now I need to save my idiota cousin.

I stagger to get up a little too quickly and almost collapse again. Avery immediately catches me and helps support my weight. We walk out toward the car. I'm slowly regaining some strength but I'm thinking it's more adrenaline.

"They all left after they knocked Ria out. I don't know where they are." Avery's says to me I kiss her on the head.

"Its going to be alright. Help me take my sweatshirt off. Unc is going to kill me if I get blood in his car." I joke trying to keep her calm.

"Remo, is that what's important right now? I need to get you to a hospital mahal ko." She calls me my love in Tagalog I want to smile but I'm solely focused on my job.

"We need to get Ria. Who knows what those scum bags are doing to her?" I do feel like I'm about to pass out. I get dizzy and Avery picks up on that.

"Thats it. Get in the back. I'm taking you to a hospital. I'll call your uncle on the way. You need to stay conscious Remo Alessandro."

"Yes bebe I'll try." While laying in the back seat.

She gets in and and drives off. I groan a little trying to get comfortable. My anxiety is rising but I try to keep calm and explain to Avery what I need. "Bebe take my phone and text compromised, code pink to the contact La Famiglia"

I see her look at me in the rear view mirror and nod. "Did that" She says putting my phone down. She's driving very cautiously. Every bump in the road hurts.

Pink is Ria. It's the code we came up with if something was to happen to her. La Famiglia is the group of top teirs, Sergio, my dad, Dante's dad and Cole. It also gets the head of security who will issue and alarm. Frankie was added too after his attack. I'm waiting for my Uncle to call me screaming any minute.

"What's your favorite Italian dish?" Avery asks me out of no where.

"Caponata. Why?"

"I just want to keep you talking. No passing out on me. We are almost at the hospital. What's your favorite Filipino dish?"

"You." I grin at her.

"Momo! I mean actual food." She tries to act mad but is blushing.

"The brisket peices in the the broth." I groan in pain.

"Beef Pares." She looks back at me with concern.

"You're being so brave Ave." I say meeting her soft brown eyes. She just smiles. I have to stop waiting and be more proactive. Its killing me that I dont know where Ria is. "I need you to call Cole."

"I don't know if I'm that brave." She jokes but it hurts to laugh. It doesn't matter though because a call comes over the Bluetooth with DeLuca flashing on the screen.

COLE'S POV

It takes me forever to fall asleep during the week now. Ria and I always have to talk until one of us passes out on the other one. Tonight it was me.

I'm woken up by an air raid siren going off next to my ear. I bolt up on high alert and look at my phone. Code pink? Ria?! What the fuck? I spoke to her not that long ago. I start to get dressed and I'm getting a call.

"Sergio?"
