RIA'S POV

I'm cooling down on the treadmill. I should be doing more but I'm tired today for some reason. Dante comes up and starts using the treadmill right next to mine. I try to ignore him.

"Ria.." he says slowly walking on the treadmill. I stay quiet and just give him the side eye. "I shouldn't have said that." He just keeps addressing me as if I'm not being childish. Maybe he's right I need to grow up.

"It's true." I shrug and keep looking in front of me increasing my speed.

"Not all of it." He speeds up to match me. "It is my job to watch you but more because my best friend and girlfriend love you."

"That's exactly what you said. You don't give a shit about me, you give a shit about them. I get it."

"I didn't mean it that way. I hate when they are upset. I get angry when I can't fix it. I said things out of anger towards you because of that."

"So it's not babysitting?" I finally look over at him arching my eyebrow.

"No I genuinely like having you around. Cole is less of a dick since you started dating which is better for everyone."

I just laugh. "I'm sorry for being a bitch."

"Don't be." He smiles. "We both said shit we didn't mean."

I smile back. "Thank you for apologizing it means alot. I know you guys never say sorry."

He just laughs through his nose. "It may be a little self serving. DeLuca has buisness he needs to attend to so I have to drive you home and I didn't want you to stab me in the neck."

I laugh at him. "I'd never stab you Dante. I'd just have Enrica give you blue balls everyday for a week or two." I tell him straight faced.

"You Botteros are cold blooded." He just scoffs. I smile happy there will be no more awkwardness.

COLE POV

I snuck off without saying goodbye to Ria. I technically never left the warehouse just went to an area where she's not allowed. I don't want her seeing me in this state of mind. I'm finishing off Aldo today. It's been prolonged because Sergio wanted him healthy and alive when we destroyed his miniature family.

Aldo is less of a man than we thought though. He turned on his men and connections so quickly. Not even knowing we have a plan to connect with Bernardo he gave his name up.

Flashback to torture *trigger warning*

"That old man up north won't do anything to help you." He spit the blood that has pooled in his mouth out on the ground.

"And you think he would have loyalty to you after what you did to his granddaughter?" Sergio is standing there in a t shirt and jeans. You can see his full sleeve tattoos.  The only time I see him casual is in this room and when he's working out. Every other time it's designer suits.

"Granddaughter? That's how you were able to make the deal with Macri when we were in Sicily? Nikki?" Aldo says groggily looking scared when the realization finally hit.

Sergio hits him with the handle of his gun. "You don't get to say her name."

Aldo spits again. "I made the connection to Macri because of that trip too. Have fun trying to flip him. Seeing as how his daughter is dead now." He smiles his gross teeth are stained red. "Do you think you'll have better luck with the Russians? That family is changing. They'll breed and kill that little whore daughter of yours without a second thought."

Sergio hits him harder knocking him out. I had to be held back from doing it myself. No one is getting near Ria. His words solidified me needing to go to county. I'll do anything to protect her.
