COLE'S POV
I lost all my senses when they took her away. Every bit of anger I had overflowed. I wound up getting into a fist fight with Dante right in the main lobby of the hospital. Sergio broke us up and threw me in a waiting room of the ICU. I trashed that. I only got a little better when a nurse came by to check my blood to see if I could donate to Ria. I am a match. I simmerrd down knowing atleast I would be useful.
Ria came out of surgery and apparently it was touch and go. Now they have her in a medically induced coma. They closed the wound and stopped the bleeding. She does have a concussion so that is being monitored. The doctors were able to confirm that she was not raped and not pregnant. Dr Laura actually told me that when she brought me out Ria's nipple rings. She had to take them out because Ria couldn't have metal on her in the MRI machine. Only Ria. That was a fun moment to hide from Sergio. Her heart rate has settled as well. I still look at the heart rate monitor they have her strapped to every six seconds.
Sergio was able to get a private room for his daughter. Everyone is afraid of him, as they should be, so she's getting VIP treatment. We have men patrolling and guarding the hallway 24/7.
All that needs to happen now is for her to wake up and let me just hold her for two weeks straight.
It's been 72 hours since surgery and I haven't left this room. I did take a shower here and throw out the clothes I was wearing because they were covered in her blood but other than that she hasn't left my sight.
I'm currently in my Tool tshirt I had on the day we met, some grey joggers, my air forces and my black snap back. The hat is used primarily to block out the awful light in this hell hole. I have my chair pulled up right next to her, I'm holding her hand and trying to nap with my head on her bed.
"Have you eaten anything Nicolo?" I jump grabbing my gun that's under Ria's blanket until I register it's my mother's voice.
"I'm good Ma." I let the handle of my gun go and put both hands on Ria.
"A stolen red jello does not count as eating."
"Thanks for the insight Ma." I say putting my head back down on the bed.
"What would Ria say if she knew you weren't eating?"
"When she wakes up from her COMA and tells me to eat. I'll eat."
"Figlio... what would you say if Ria wasn't eating?" She tries a different tactic. I just groan and roll my eyes. She's not going to drop this. I pick my head up and reluctantly let go of Ria. I walk over, stick my head out of her hospital room door and just yell to my guys patrolling.
"I need someone to get me Chinese food. I need one of those platter things with all the food and some chicken lo mein." I turn back around and my mother is giving me a death stare.
"What?"
"Aren't you forgetting something?" Pretty sure she wants me to be polite.
"Oh shit yeah" I go back to the door. "grab chop sticks too."
I'm still getting a glare. "Ria likes chopsticks." I shrug and my mother slaps me in the back of the head.
"Fuck ma.That hurt." I say rubbing my head.
"I taught you manners Nicolo and watch your mouth." She scolds me then smacks me again.
I roll my eyes and go back to sitting next to Ria. I pick up her hand in both of mine and kiss it. Her wrists have burns from the ropes and her face has splotches of different colors but she is so beautiful. I just want to see those gorgeous eyes again.
"She really is pretty isn't she?" My mother says rubbing her hand up and down my back, my rudeness apparently forgotten.
That's the great thing about Italian women. My dad would say they're like boomerangs. They fly off the handle for every little thing but they are quick to come back to you.
I nod at my mother's statement, keeping my eyes on my girlfriend and kiss Ria's hand again.
"You always thought so. You used to beg your dad to take you to Unc's house to play with her. You loved her 'lellow hair."
I just smirk. Letting go with one hand I brush her hair behind her ear.
"She's going to wake up soon Nicolo. Don't worry. She's here."
I just nod again. For the first time in eight years I need to hold back tears. "She saved me." I tell my mother. "I would be in the hospital or worse right now if she didn't move me out of the way."
My mother starts crying but I can tell she's trying not to. "Brave girl." My mother sniffles. "She saved you long before that sweetheart." She kisses my head. "Sergio requested I go get her some clean clothes for when she wakes up. Do you need anything?"
"The iPad so she can watch The Office and Hulu, my black Champion hoodie for her and that fuzzy blanket she bought for our room it's kind of cold in here and these blankets suck."
"Si figliolo. Take care of yourself to." I just nod and she kisses me one last time on the head and leaves. I stand up and kiss Ria's forehead. "Ti amo così tanto Victoria Nicole." Not letting go of her I lay my head back on the bed and try to fall asleep.
