AS TIME TICKED, Niki found his mind falling into a deep abyss of negativity. Images of his past friend wandered in his head as his eyes looked at the ceiling vacantly. After that traumatic memory, he found himself disgusted by blood, so for an eclipse, he avoided drinking the red substance. Although blood was the main source of energy for his species, it didn't matter to him.
Unsurprisingly his brothers had caught on to him and began coaxing him to start drinking blood again, however the thick-shelled boy refused. His actions caused confusion to many, but they didn't ask the sole reason since Niki was always reserved to himself.
Not long after an eclipse though, Heeseung had noticed just how shrill and fragile he had gotten, so as the eldest brother he had gathered all of his brothers to operate a plan for him to drink blood again. And it worked. Niki's eyes had to be covered by a cloth and his natural instincts quickly took over. He has been drinking blood daily ever since.
"Niki." A soft muffled voice entered his earlobes.
His eyes focused on the divine figure in front of him. He instantly identified the person as his dire thoughts were replaced by the images of her. Her wavy hair escaped the low ponytail she had, tickling his cheeks as her brows pulled together ever so slightly. Niki tilted his head, leaning back as his hands supported him.
Her eyes looked tired, yet they still hold so much light inside them. It was full of soul and life.
Subconsciously, his hand moved on its own- almost cupping her cheek. Thankfully, he gained his self-conscience before he could touch her. Touching her. Would her skin feel soft?
"What?" Niki was baffled at himself, questioning his own thoughts and Seulhyun sat in front of him, crossing her legs as her face showed concern.
"I was asking you a question. Do you want meat or berries for a refreshment?" Seulhyun asked again, unaware of the true reason why he had asked that question.Niki frowned at the mention of snacks. "We have refreshments? But I thought the supply has already run out?" He tore his eyes away from her, peering the tent and found everyone except for Sunoo to be gone. "Where did everyone go?"
"Weren't you listening?" Seulhyun chuckled, tapping his shoulders and stood up properly. "They have all gone to hunt for food. We figured King Aspian will need it when he has woken up, so might as well have fun."
Niki got on his feet, pushing himself off the ground as Seulhyun fixed her hair into a tighter ponytail. As she pulled her hair, her eyes glanced towards his direction causing her to crack into laughter. The prince looked at her blankly, why did she suddenly laugh?
"She is laughing because of how stupid you look." A brazen voice pointed.
Sunoo shook his head at his idiotic brother, "If you're not going, accompany me." He told as he motioned him to seat next to him. Seulhyun snorted, "Or you can go with me." She gave him an alternative. Sunoo eyed the girl, daringly and looked at his brother, "You wouldn't dare!"
