THE DOOR TO THE GREAT HALL opened and Lee Heeseung entered the room, fixing his collar as he took a seat beside Queen Haeyul. Everyone had been anticipating his return but who knew it would be in such disastrous situation. The grim expressions from everyone made the latter sucked in his breath. "So, any further updates on the situation?" His question was directed to the queen.
Haeyul shook her head curtly.
Heeseung licked his lips, confused by the sudden hitch. Just a few days ago, Jungwon had reassured him of a smooth-sailing journey, yet now everything is unclear. "Was there any injuries Seulhyun had sustained?"This time Sunoo answered, "No, she fainted because she was too overwhelmed by the event. Other than that, I found nothing wrong with her."
"Has she shown any signs of regaining consciousness?"
"So far.." Sunoo pursed his lips, "no.""Has anyone been able to reach Jungwon or the others?" Heeseung scanned everyone's faces only to be disappointed by their response. "Alright then." He exhaled, already creating a plan in his head. He turned towards Haeyul's direction. "Your Grace, what do you think we should do?"
He made sure to ask her as she was now the one holding the highest position in the castle. He noticed her gulping as she tried to conceal her anxiety. She took a quick glance at him and spoke with the thickest voice she could muster. "I think we should start by collecting more proof since reaching Jungwon and the others seems impossible at the moment."
Jay agreed to her suggestion, "How do you think we will do that?" He asked.
"Yeah. We have no way on contacting our brothers and Seulhyun is fast asleep." Jake corroborated.
Haeyul clenched her hands together, whirling her brain for an answer when a voice spoke to her. "Act calm. This is just a play for the knights and maids in the room right now. They need to see who rules the place when Jungwon is gone." Heeseung comforted her. Haeyul"s eyes brightened, realizing the supportive looks she was given by all the princes at the table. "You can take this as practice for the future."
"Tell Sunoo to use the purification spell on Seulhyun. I'll take it from there." He told. Haeyul smiled, continuing her speech: "We can start with Seulhyun." She faced Sunoo, "Sunoo, can't you do the purification spell on her?"
The prince's eyes widened in horror. "Purification spell?" He repeated, question marks floated around his head. "Of course, but I've never practiced that spell before."
"Well now is the time to practice then. You'll practice on her." Heeseung shortly told, earning a scowl from the younger one. "Do not underestimate yourself, Sunoo. With your skill, I doubt you'll fail."
Sunoo heaved a long sigh, yet he agreed anyway, nodding away. "But what will we do if I really do fail?" He asked, raising his brow. No matter how confident he is in his skills, he wouldn't dare to test a spell on someone dear to him. So, this was really frightening for him (though he might not show it). It's either he heals her, or she might stay in that unconscious state for who knows how long.
