SEULHYUN didn't know if it was alright to be this anxious after experiencing something good not long ago. Her hands were sweating as she swept the floor of the library, and her heart kept thumping even though she hadn't done anything tiring that morning.

She put her wand in her pocket as she wiped the sweat on her hand, furrowing her brows as last night's memory relayed in her head.

"You old good-for-nothing!!" The ear-piercing voice echoed the dead halls which caused Seulhyun to halt in her steps.

Who would be awake in this hour? Usually everyone is fast asleep already. Seulhyun frowned as she pressed her body against the cold wall, ear-dropping the conversation. Then, she heard a harsh slap and something falling on the floor. Surprised by the sudden violence, negative images swarmed her mind.

Did someone just got hurt? Should she report this to His Majesty?

The chipper voice spoke again, "I gave you a simple order and yet you failed me!" Her outburst received a soft mumble from the other party. Seulhyun leaned to the side, trying to identify the owner of the voice. She knew it was Princess Aera, but she couldn't make out who the other person was.

Her frown deepened as the soft mumbles continued, the words sounding a lot like gibberish to her.  However, cutting the mysterious person off, Princess Aera said: "Forget it!"

"I already have a plan arranged." She stopped, her heel clacked on the floor as she took a step, "If you mess this up, I will make you suffer."

Seulhyun exhaled deeply, the frustration of the princess still lingering in the cracks of the hallways as she tried to figure out the scene. If she told anyone about it, they would simply brush her off and tell her to keep her mouth shut. Yet her gut is telling her to inform it to someone. Someone who will take her seriously.

And she knew just the vampire.

She took a quick scan of the library before leaving to clean herself. The hallways zoomed past her as she ran to her room.

The doors slammed open, and she took off her uniform, wearing her own clothes and fixed her tangled hair. Seeing herself in the rusted mirror, she slightly grimaced at her appearance. She wanted to fix the strands of hair that sticked out of her almost-perfect bun but decided against it. Her arms were already sore from doing it twice.

Suddenly the door to her room slammed open, revealing a pair of exhausted maids—the spots of ashes scattered on their face revealed what job they had been doing. "No way.. is it already time for us to clean the chimneys?"

Grimace splattered all over Seulhyun's face when her friends nodded her head half-heartedly. One of them patted her shoulder and said, "Good luck. It's your turn in two days." Before going to take their shower basket and clothes, leaving the room.
