"How does it feel to room together with me, your favorite brother?"
THE OBNOXIOUS QUESTION made Niki gagged as he threw a pillow at his brother, resulting Sunoo to fall on his bed. "What was that for?!"

"For disgusting me." Niki quipped, patting his pillow before lying down on top of the bed. Instantly, he felt his bones crack into its original place as the constant sleeping on a rough mattress had pained his back mildly.

He groaned with pleasure, shutting his eyes as the exhaustion began to catch up on him. "You can't rest yet, Niki. We still have to join the Royal family for dinner." Sunoo reminded, only receiving a whine from his younger brother. "I'll go prepare myself first, I've got to look handsome."
"You won't meet anyone except for those annoying siblings anyway!"
"Who knows? maybe I'll find my Seulhyun or Haeyul."

Niki scoffed. "Good luck."
Sunoo spun his head around the sleeping vampire and glared at him with his brows pulled together, clearly offended by his 'encouraging' remark. He swished around and said, "I don't need luck."

All of the royalties entered the Dining Hall and everyone greeted them by bowing to their knees. Once King Aspian acknowledged them, all of them presumed their activities—the maids were preparing the dinner table, and the knights were all stationed in their assigned spots.

Seulhyun rushed to place the last dish on the table as she saw the royalties nearing. "Here, let me help." One of the maids said as they moved the dish together.
"Thank you." Seulhyun smiled.

The two maids scurried over to their stations and the dinner began. The King waited for Niki and Sunoo to touch their cutleries before digging in. Their conversation started and Seulhyun's eyes wandered to Niki, who was surprisingly holding an amicable conversation with Prince Daehil. In times like this, she always felt the distance between him and her. He is a prince—a prince with many responsibilities amd affairs to bear while she is a mere maid.

Although she has her own set of responsibilities, it was nothing compared to his. He owned a title, she didn't. His bloodline carries out the legacy of the future King and Queens. Her bloodline may end whenever. He is a descendant from the most powerful king to ever lived, she is nothing like that.

It felt as if Seulhyun didn't hold an importance next to him. If he died, the world will have a turmoil however if it was her to die, the world will continue on normally.

Seulhyun swallowed as her throat dried. Her eyes glanced at Niki again before she was called by the housekeeper to follow her out of the hall with many other maids.

On the other hand, Niki was enjoying the conversation with Daehil. Surprisingly, Daehil wasn't as bad as he remembered him to be. He looked happier and his former audacious attitude vanished. No matter whether it was all  just an act or not, Niki appreciated his sincerity.
