UA, the star that will lead to a brighter future, docking only the best of the best, the ones most qualified to be the world's heroes and pave the way to humanity leaving their space rock and settling on different planets.
Of course, not everyone agreed to sending Japan's brightest out into the depths of space in nothing but a tin can, riots and protests breaking out before even the cleaning staff could make it into the building, eventually hindering the trip.
But Katsuki be damned if a couple of balding men in tight suits try and take away what he has been spending years studying for. Now that he's here, the pressure of breaking the atmosphere leaving his chest, replaced by the feeling of the gravity generators in the ship kicking in, all he can feel is satisfaction.
There is a slight hitch in the air, like a computer first starting up, before the air smoothly stills, and the pressure leaves. Katsuki lingers, soaking up the feeling of his feet on the ground. The ground of a spaceship. Excitement swirls in his chest, but he doesn't let it show on his face.
Not when he still has a shit ton of things to do. Katsuki changes into his uniform, ditching the crisp white jacket and just leaving the black shirt and pants on. The spacecraft is quiet, the only sounds being the mechanical beeps and humming of its inner system working overtime to get oxygen to the rest of the closed off areas of the ship.
Katsuki's boots thump on the ground as he walks down the long, muted white floors. Floors that, until now, he's only seen in high quality simulations and training facilities. His eyes never stray from the windows lining the walls, letting him see into deep space.
The darkness of it all is something he doesn't think he will ever get used to, the feeling all consuming. Like if you look at it for too long, the void will certainly pull you in. He walks to the center of the spacecraft, the control room.
The blinking lights and beeping is a familiar sound, and as he makes his way to the panel in the middle of the room and starts the first step of his mission. Making sure the hyper sleep pods are all still functioning.
The last thing he wants is the rest of his useless crew to become skin and bones before they can even enter the atmosphere of their target planet. The screen displays the condition of the pods, all normal. Even the heartbeats of his sleeping crew are all steady, as they should be.
Katsuki knows he only has a matter of minutes before the rest of the extras wake up, shattering the silence of the ship. He doubts he'll even talk to most of them, seeing as everyone will be spread out in this huge ass ship, confined to their own stations and the mess hall.
