The blinding lights of flashing cameras were going off in every which direction you could imagine as soon as the Rockstar's lips were pressed against hers.

Why did my stomach twist the second I saw them kiss?

What was this sudden stab in my chest?

What was this sudden overwhelming feeling of betrayal?

It didn't make sense to me. Harry was free to kiss whoever he wanted to kiss. And I most definitely shouldn't care about it. So why did I?

All I needed to do was give him the damn phone and leave. That's all I came for. I needed to get out of here but why wouldn't my body move?

I think this was the exact moment I realized how far apart Harry and I were. Living together, watching tv together, and arguing with each other made me forget all of that.

Some stupid part of me actually thought he and I might be closer than I initially thought was possible. That even though he's a millionaire, even though he's a legend in his field, even though every single person on this planet knows his face. That I was still allowed to be a part of his world. That we had a connection. God was I wrong.

What was someone like me even doing here? I didn't belong to this world. I was just... me. Not like him. Or her. Them.

"Are we doing some kind of role play?"

"Jesus, Louis! You scared me."

His eyes trailed down my body, or more specifically what I was wearing. "Why are you wearing a waitress uniform, Auri?" like he just realised what he just said his eyes widened in panic, "Not that I'm complaining! Looks pretty damn hot on you." he paused before asking why again.

"It's too complicated to explain." I waved my hand, not wanting to go into detail about how I ended up in this ridiculous situation. "Could you do me a favour? Harry forgot his phone, you need to give it to him."

Louis stared down at the phone I tried to hand over to him with a befuddled expression. "He's right over there. Why don't you give him it y'self?"

"Because." was my explanation. "Just do me the favour okay?"

Before Louis said anything back to me or before he could even reach out and take the device from my hand I heard a voice call my name from across the room.

Harry and his date- who turned out to be Pixi Star, an extremely talented woman and artist- made their way over to Louis and me.

"What are you doing here?" Oh, you didn't know? I normally just dress up as a waitress and gate-crash Charity Galas. "And why are you dressed as a waitress?"

"Why do I have to be a waitress, those could just be my normal clothes?"

He looks down at my hand before meeting my gaze. I could see him bite the bottom of his lower lip to refrain from the obvious amusement that was on his face. "You're holding a tray."

"You left your phone at home. Your manager wanted me to bring it to you. So, here it is." finally giving over the charcoal iPhone I quickly said my goodbyes before leaving the venue.

I only managed to get as far as the entrance when I was stopped yet again by him. "What's this all about?"

"I don't know what you mean." I refused to turn around and face him. I kept my eyes on the door that was only a step away from me.

"You're not acting like yourself."

"You don't even know me, Harry. I'm completely normal."

"Then why can't you even look me in the eyes while saying that." I took a breath before hesitantly turning to face his emerald eyes. He was shocked by the saddened face, but it somehow felt like he already knew.

"Aurora. I was only with her to distract the media from you." he says, "You told me you didn't want this to happen."

I have to get out.

"You only made out with a gorgeous superstar to distract them from me?" I scoff, "You know what? I don't care. It's none of my business. You do you."

The longer I stayed around Harry the more I overthought,

I have to get out.

The more I panicked,

I have to get out.

And the more I felt the walls coming closer and closer together, almost sandwiching me between them.

I got out.

Before I could think of what to do next, I was leaving Harry behind when my body shot off in a sprint. The double doors I ran through must have been the entryway for the gardens to the castle-like home.

It wasn't until I was out of breath that I stopped running. I was now standing in front of a glistening lake under the moon and the dark sky that was blanketed in stars. It was beautiful.

"You also got enough of the party?"

"Sorry?" still trying to catch my breath I didn't take a second to realise that I wasn't alone. A couple of steps away from me was a man I'd never seen before in my life, sucking on the end of an almost-finished cigarette.

"Those charity galas are only there to show off to everyone how rich they are. Pretty damn boring to me."

"Then why are you here?"

"My management says it's good for publicity." he shrugged, clicking away the dumper. His eyes squinted while they trailed around the feature of my face, "Who are you? I'd have remembered a face like yours."

"No one." I'm no one. "Have a good night."
