Before heading off for my first day at the law firm, Queenie was hot on my tail about not calling her after landing. So, after filing her in (minus living with the love of her life), I showered and changed into a white button-up, black skirt and tights paired with a light grey blazer and black heels.

There was a kind lady at the front of the desk called Betty who took it upon herself to show me around the firm. If I thought the building was impressive on the outside I was shortly proven wrong when exploring the inside.

Grand elevators, marble floors and a lounge where Betty and I currently were. It was coloured in creams and browns. "Most of the employees gather here or on the roof during breaks." She wore her hair pinned up, a pearl necklace graced her pale neck. She wore a cream shirt and a long black skirt.

"And here is where you'll be working." We walked into a spacious room — one which was a two-person office. The walls were white and a shade of paladin blue. "I'll call you when Mr Black is ready to see you. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask."

"Thank you so much." I thank her. Nodding her head she leaves and I walk over to the desk that's laid out near a big window that shows a wonderful view of the city, being on a high floor and all.

"Miss Winters?" A voice interrupts my train of thought, "Hi, I'm Chris." I turn around and am met with a man who looks to be in his late twenties or early thirties at least. "We're going to be sharing this office."

"Please, call me Aurora. It's nice to meet you. Are you new here too?"

"Relatively." he shrugs before adding, "I've been working here for a few months now." his brows seem to frown when quickly scanning me. "How old are you?" he blurts, widening his eyes he quickly spoke, "You look too young to work here is all."

"I'm twenty-one. But I still haven't gotten my degree just yet." I explain.

"Miss Winters," Betty interrupts, saving me from this now painfully awkward conversation. "Mr Black is ready to see you."

"It was nice meeting you, Chris." I excuse myself, following Betty to a door that I assume is Mr Black's office.

"Mr Black will call you in a second." Was all she said before disappearing down the long hallway.

"Right, thank you."

You got this Aurora. Just no unnecessary crap. Show him how mature you indeed can be.

"Miss Winters, please come on in." A voice from inside called out.

When I entered my new boss's office I was caught off guard. The guy who was supposed to be my new boss was a lot younger than expected. It was the first time I saw him in person. We had communicated before but only through email. His assistant took care of my application process.

Not only was he younger than expected but he was a lot more attractive than I'd imagined too.

To be completely honest, I thought I'd be greeted by a fifty to sixty-year-old man. Not some handsome lawyer. And now I was confronted with a twenty to thirty-year-old handsome lawyer. Who happened to be the boss of thousands of employees at one of the most successful law companies in the world.

"Ms Fields showed you around I assume?" He asks, taking his hand out as a gesture for me to sit.

"Yes, she did." I nod. "And I'm very thankful you offered me this position."

With a smile on his face, he waves his hand to dismiss me. "Please, we're the lucky ones to have you, Miss Winters."

"Your grades are exceptional and way above standard," his mouth twists with an impressed look before continuing, "and your internships were well praised by all your supervisors."
