Waking up with a sigh, I opened my eyes only to realise I was in my room. Did I come to bed last night?
The last thing I remember was arguing with Harry over the remote. I wanted to watch Head Over Heels and Harry being Harry point blank refused.
So, we settled on a nature program or more specifically butterflies.
Even though the show itself was telling us the facts, Harry took it upon himself to tell me himself.
"Did you know that butterflies don't have noses or lungs?"
"Adult butterflies and caterpillars breathe through a series of small tiny openings along the side of their bodies called spiracles."
It was refreshing to see how much he cared about such things. How his eyes instantly lit up when I took interest in what he was saying.
I was shocked when walking into the kitchen to not only see him awake at such an early time but to also be dressed as well.
"Hey," I spoke first.
Putting down whatever it was he had been eating, he turned around to face me. "Hi."
"What are you up to?"
"Nothin'." Was all he said with a shrug before turning back to the sandwich he'd made for himself.
Normally I would be annoyed by the over-enthusiasm in the morning but now I was just confused. Why was he acting so strange?
Did I do something wrong?
"Hey... is everything okay?" I ask delicately.
Discarding his now empty plate, he paused in his steps when standing directly in front of me.
He couldn't even look at me.
"Fantastic." was all he could muster before leaving. His voice was low as if there was no meaning to his words. Like there was no life in his voice.
Despite Harry being confusing as fuck, I decided not to worry about it and be productive. I didn't feel like studying in my room all the time, so I wanted to find a change of scenery. I wanted to find a library for me to be in peace.
After changing into something other than my pyjamas, I arrived at the library. It was bigger than I imagined. Books filled every corner of the room. It wasn't as quiet as you would expect it to be but after finding the book I needed I flipped through the pages before continuing reading.
"Hey." A voice said it startled me at first. It sounded so familiar but when I looked up to see their face it wasn't who I was expecting.
"Hey?" I replied to the stranger.
"Sorry to bother you," they started, but I couldn't help but run my eyes over their appearance. His appearance made him look lost like he certainly didn't belong in a library. He wore a black hoodie underneath a denim jacket, matched with black skinny jeans and white shoes. His hair was brown and combed back into a messy manner. His face was chiselled with slight facial hair and his eyes were a dark brown.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't find him attractive. But that still didn't answer why he was there. Stood in front of the table I sat on. In the back of the library.
"Do you mind if I sit here as well?"
"Not at all."
He thanked me with a smile before sitting in the empty chair across from me. "I'm Liam by the way."
