Aurora's POV
"Who are you?" I spoke up, the hand that covered my mouth finally being lifted away from my face as I was now turned to face three tall men who stood standing in front of me. They weren't strongly built but I knew I wouldn't stand the physical capacity to go against them.
I looked around at my surroundings, seeing I was dragged to the abandoned horse stables. I needed to make a plan. I needed to try and distract them and kick them where it hurts.
"You caught our interest, Aurora." one finally speaks. "So, we decided to get to know you better." he continued while the guy beside decided to finish, "We're trying to become friends with you."
"Okay... Maybe breaking into a house and taking that person might not be the best way to start that friendship." I tried to sound confident, even if I wasn't, I couldn't let them catch onto my wavering voice.
The guy stood in the middle and chuckled sadistically, "We don't bother about the consequences." the silence came once again, and I couldn't help but think that their faces seemed familiar to me. Not only their faces but their voices too.
"How do you know my name?" my brows furrowed at the question. Had I met them before and forgot about it?
"Let's not waste any more time." they ignored me, not bothering to answer my question while they looked at me like I was their last meal. Or like their last chance at fun. "But it's been such a delight talking to her."
"Right? While spoil such a meaningful conversation, Jason?"
"It's Elijah." Elijah. Elijah doesn't seem to ring a bell... "Let's cut the shit and just get rid of 'er."
"Everyone will know you did this. The surveillance cameras would have caught you and captured all your faces." I panicked, quickly rambling the first thing that came to mind, which only made them smirk at my distress.
Kick and run.
"Nice try babe. Ain't no fancy fucking "surveillance cameras" around this shit-show." he mimicked, the sound of his goons laughing in the background, all I could think of was why my feet weren't moving. They were glued to the ground and he was coming closer.
Kick and run!
I hadn't even seen the knife which he held until it was near my thigh. Kick and run, Aurora. He stood over me, I was trapped. KICK AND RUN, AURORA! His left hand held the knife up higher like he was just ready to plunge it into my chest.
Until, my legs finally unfroze. Having a mind of their own one knee lifted for a split second before coming to meet his 'precious jewels'. The second he bent down to whale in agony I took that as my chance to run.
Escape.
Only to be quickly reminded of the other two boys when I was pushed down to the ground, letting out a small "Umph," when my back met the hard concrete. I was too late. I had missed my chance and I was going to pay for it.
The sound of a gun being fired rings through my ears. Had I just been shot? My eyes scanned my body, and I failed to find any blood. "On the ground!" a familiar voice shouted. It was Malvolio. I was so in shock I didn't care to notice the three men out cold on the floor across from me.
"Hey-" Black enters my line of vision, blocking out the scene in front of me. "Head to the infirmary, I'll call the police." my eyes went back and forth between his, giving him a gentle nod before he helped me stand on two feet.
It took me a while but I finally made my way to the infirmary, or what was left anyway. I decided to sit in the dark beside the window. I didn't want to turn the lights on. I didn't want to see if there was any wounds or any sort of reminder. I just wanted to go to sleep and forget this ever happened.
