8. my tears richochet

As the buzzer went off, I was relieved that we had finally made it to a 10 game winning streak. 

As the stadium cleared, our friends and family came out. Well most people, unlike me. 

Until suddenly in the background I could hear someone screaming. 

"RORY!!!" I could hear someone behind security. 

I stopped in my tracks. It was Logan. 

"Oh my gosh LOGAN!!" 

As he embraced me in a hug, it was everything that I had needed. The last couple of weeks had been pretty rough. Caitlin and Connor had made their relationship official, which hit pretty close to home. 

"Logan!! What are you doing here!?"

"Well, at break we have two weeks off of school, so I decided to come visit."

"Oh my gosh really!! That is so great!" 

I was so happy to be with my best friend again. Until someone came over, making it feel a lot more like high school. 

"Guys, it's like high school all over again!!" Connor says 

"Thank god it's not." I say under my breath 

"What was that, Rorz?"

As he said that a shock rolled down my spine. 

"Have I ever met you before?" Caitlin asks Logan 

"No, I don't think so. I'm Rory's friend from back home."

"Oh, that's nice!" 

"So, Rorz. You never answered my question!" Connor says 

"I said thank god it's not like high school." 

"Wait, you guys went to high school together?" Caitlin asks 

"Unfortunately." I say

"Aww, Rory. You know that you loved every moment of me being there!" Connor says

"We both know that isn't true." 

"Why would you not tell me this?" Caitlin says, looking at me. 

"Iv'e tried, but I didn't think that you would understand." I say

"Understand what?" Caitlin says

"Yeah Rory, understand what?" Connor says

"Can we not do this in front of my friend that flew 4 hours to come see me!" 

"Why not, Rorz. Are you scared that blondie can't use Daddy's money to buy you out of this one. Well, you need his money anyway because you have no one."

"HEY! Don't talk to her like that." Logan yells at Connor 

"It's not my fault that Rory is poor. She can cover it all up with this fake identity of a nice car, and a nice house, but everyone knows that behind the show she really isn't anything." 

"I don't think that you should be talking about people's parents or my parents buying me out of things. You father couldn't buy you out of your 4 DUI's and the only thing that he could buy you into was this school!"

"Oh Rory! Shut the hell up!" He says trying to push me back.

"Stop!!" Logan yells at Connor 

"Oh my god! Logan! When are you going to realize you are so much better then Rory. Stop defending her. She is nothing."
