"Hey Rory, can I talk about something with you?" Caitlin asks me

We had just landed in Boston for the holidays, and were getting ready to get off the plane.

"Um, yeah?" I say, wondering if I did something wrong.

In complete honesty, I was really nervous. Caitlin and I really hadn't had an official first date yet, so I think it was just a little bit akward.

"Well, this is really hard to say but you know how I have NIL deals with like different companies and stuff, right?"

"Yeah."

"Well, they are super strict with who I date." She says

"Oh." I say

What is going on?

"Yeah, and I just have to get approved to talk about our relationship. So, I know it is really bad but is there anyway that you can just keep it on the down low, including your brothers?"

"Um, yeah. I guess."

It just weirded me out, who would my brothers tell?

"And I talked to your brother about it, and so he knows, but promised not to say anything to your other brothers or anything like that."

Wait what? Okay, now it is getting a little bit weird.

"Wait, you talked to my brother, without telling me?"

"Um, yeah. Don't worry, it's not like that. At ALL." She says

"Uh, okay."

I am still a little bit weirded out, but decide to let it go.

                                                             ✨

As we got super close to my house, I thought I had the right to tell Caitlin about my family.

"Um, so this is the first time I've seen almost all of my brothers together for a really long time, and, I just want to warn you that there might be some tricks up their sleeves."

"What does that mean?"

"It just means that some of them have A TON of money, and will go to an extreme to hurt others with it, even if it is people in their family."

"Can you explain a little more?"

"It just means that we didn't grow up with normal family morals. It's shit, but it is what it is."

"Oh, okay."

"I will defend you through anything, just look out for yourself."

"It's nice to know that at least you will be there for me."

10 minutes later...

As we pulled up to my house, I could see Caitlin's jaw drop.
