So I know that people say to not judge people based on first impressions, but it is hard not too.

While I was on the plane ride over, all over my TikTok for you page, were student athletes talking about how they got a super special tour of the school, got super nice dorm rooms, and got a really nice welcome party.

I'm really hoping that will happen for me, but I guess that I can't really have to high of expectations. But, when I talked to Coach Bluder on the phone the other day, she told me that I would have a solo dorm, which is super super cool, because I like my personal space. She also told me they were working out the whole high school situation, but I am sure that they have a plan.

As I arrive at Iowa, I notice just how massive it is. I had grown up at a schools with only around 150 people in my grade. My parents had set up a fund for my brothers and I, but we could only use it for educational purposes, so it really didn't do much, other then we could get good education.

Maybe it was big enough that I wouldn't have to see Connor.

As soon as I step out of the car, I head to the location that Coach Bluder sent me. The Iowa Athletics center.

This is where her office, as well as a lot of the other coaches are located, so it makes sense that we would meet here.

"Hello, Rory! Welcome to Iowa! It is so nice to finally meet you." Coach Bluder says, shaking out her hand to give me a handshake.

"It is so nice to meet you, Coach Bluder!" I say, shaking her hand

"Well, have a seat!" She tells me

"Do you want anything to drink? Water? Or gatorade? We drink lots and lots of gatorade here!"

"Oh, yeah I know you guys drink so much gatorade! When I was like 8 I got a cavity so then my brother flipped out because I was drinking too many sugary drinks, so he forced me to give up soda and gatorade. But, I will take some water, please!"

"Oh, that is so hilarious." She says, not laughing

"But, you say soda, not pop?" She tells me

"Oh yeah, back in Boston we call it Soda. My dad loved soda so much that he named my brother sodapop."

"Please, Congratulate your brother for being drafted to the Miami heat. We are all super excited to see him play his first game, shortly." She says

"Thank you so much! He is super super excited."

"Okay, so there is just a few things that we need to go through, I'm sure that you have had a very long travel day."

"So, I know that I told you that you could get a single dorm, but I guess this year there aren't any singles left. I tried contacting so many people, but I couldn't get one."

"Oh, that's fine! I don't mind sharing."

"So, you will be roommates with a two other girls, Monika and Caitlin. I am not sure who they are, but their are so many different names at this school!"

"Oh yeah. It is a huge school!"

"Did you grow up going to a big high school?"

"No, I went to a super super small school."

"Oh, okay. Like how many students."

"Um, I think like 150ish."

"Oh." She says

"Okay, so anyways here is your schedule. For your schooling, the school is hiring a personal teacher, who will teach you in all subjects. Apparently he is like the best in Iowa, so we would only hire the best of the best for you!"
