Rory's POV:

It had only been two days since Caitlin's and my "break".

I don't even know what to do, though.

In about 10 minutes, I had my first practice, the first time that I will have seen Caitlin since the break.

As I walked into the facility, I had Molly come with me. Just for support. She was one of my best friends, and I know that I could trust her to have my back.

At first, when I walked in, everything was normal. I had only ran into McKenna and Gabbie, and they were totally acting normal and fine.

But, once all of Caitlin's friends came in, that' when I started to get some looks. Her best friends on the team are Kate, Monika, and Kylie.

As each one came in, I got a look from each one.

As we went into the gym to start practice, still no Caitlin. It really wasn't like Caitlin to miss practice, especially not with a game of ours coming up so soon.

"Girls, where is Caitlin?" Coach Bluder asked

"I don't know, why don't you ask Rory?" Monika blurts out

"Don't be rude." McKenna says, grabbing me in for a hug

"Okay, well I'm not going to get involved all up in your drama. But, Rory if it was you, please fix this. It isn't like Caitlin to not show up, and not say anything. I mean, we have a game in less than 24 hours!"

Later...

As I walked out of the facilities, it was so tiring.

I really just needed to go get a chai latte, and to make my day better.

As I was walking in the courtyard to go get it, someone quite literally smacks into me, making me drop all of my books.

"Oh shit, are you okay?" He says

"Yeah, I'm fine." I say, quickly picking my books back up.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry."

"Really, it's fine this day couldn't get much worse." I say, almost collecting everything

"Wait, you are Rory Gilmore, right?" He asks

"Yeah, I am."

"Oh, you are like amazing at basketball! I see you all the time around campus, and it literally makes my day. My name is Griff, by the way."

"Oh, nice!"

"Well, actually. If you would like, I would like to hang out sometime." He says

"I would love t-"

And then, I saw her. Walking across the courtyard, with her headphones on.

"Can you just hold that thought, I will be right back." I say, leaving

As I run across to go talk to Caitlin, she doesn't even realize.

"Caitlin, what the fuck?" I yell at her, forcing her to take her headphones off

"What do you want?" She says, very much annoyed

"Where were you today during practice?" I say

"Why do you care? You shouldn't anymore."

"Fine, but you shouldn't do that to the team." I say, walking away

As I walk back, I feel really bad, having completely ditched Griff.

"Sorry, I don't even know what's going on right now." I say

"No worries, hey, I was wondering if you would ever want to grab coffee sometime?" He asks
