Y/N's POV

Lucy and I were escorted away and were brought to the Justice Building and were left there for a few days. On the fifth day the peacekeepers came in and grabbed us roughly by the wrists and muttered "Were going to the capitol now vermin........." Lucy Grey and I nodded and let them escort us which only took like 30 seconds we then got into these things that looked like a cattle transporter not a human fit car as soon as I got closer I scrunched up my nose in disgust it smelled like manure  it was so gross then I saw a middle aged boy maybe 17-18 years old he did look a bit attractive ok fine super attractive I gripped Lucy Grey's hand harder and we got into the manure thing.

I saw the boy talking to the peacekeeper who escorted us into here then the boy walked up to us and stopped the peacekeeper so we could have a quick talk with each other. The boy said "Hello there you must be Y/N L/N and Lucy Baird. I'm Coriolanus Snow I'm your mentor for these Hunger Games." He handed us 2 roses Lucy Gray being the psycho she was picked a flower petal and ate it and whispered something in my ear about it tasting good so I decided to also try it she was very much correct it was so delicious and felt natural.
Coriolanus just looked at us confused and we boarded the manure cart. Lucy Gray and I picked a spot near the corner once Coriolanus entered the cart and all eyes went onto him. Once we got into the road they looked at him with malicious grins and one of them aimed their elbow at Corn's throat. Lucy Gray intervened but I just continued my nap I heard Lucy Gray mumbling something about how he was our mentor and everyone had one. I let out a sigh of relief that Corn didn't die since I didn't want to be the one at the disadvantage since I wouldn't have a mentor.
Then everyone just fell asleep then we entered the Capitol and we were all still asleep. I sort of felt a tumble but I just kept my eyes shut until I felt Lucy Gray's soft touch upon my almost lifeless skin. I jolted up upon feeling her touch upon my skin then I heard Corn's annoying voice I thought "Geez Corn has a really annoying voice compared to Lucy Gray's! Heck even Billy Taupe has a less annoying voice! Why did I even give him the nickname of corn it just sounds dumb now! Ugh Lucy Gray's voice is at least soft and gentle and makes a heartless person smile......... No wait Y/N Emerald L/n you're not lesbian! Yes you're not lesbian and not in love with Lucy Gray Baird!" Corn then snapped his fingers and I fell out of my trance Lucy Gray's soft gentle voice then said "Y/N Emerald Coriolanus thinks we're in the monkey house in the zoo."
My mouth gaped Lucy Gray just chuckled and said "Close your mouth silly you're going to have something fly in I bet someone thinks you're a fish human." I flashed her a grin as Lucy Gray turned away I saw a glint of jealousy in Corn's eyes I stuck my tongue out to him he then sent me a harsh glare that would have made me 6 feet under or maybe 100 feet under. I heard murmurs saying "It's the Snow boy!"
"Who's that again?"
"You know, the ones with the roses on their roof!"
As I stared off into the distance i saw a TV crew approaching me and Corn or maybe it was Corn and I who knows?
As they came closer Lucy Gray said to us both "Own it." Lucy Gray and I sat down and I helped her fix the rose, arranging her ruffles and hair, and helping her adorn her rose. I saw another glint of jealousy in Coriolanus's eyes, as I saw that I saw a soft blush on Lucy Gray's face she also looked uncomfortable by how close I was so I backed away a bit. I saw a bunch of small little kids looking at me and Lucy Gray I saw Corn approach the children saying quite loudly probably boasting saying "How do you do?" While Corn leaned to the children "I brought along 2 friends of mine today. Would you like to meet them?" I saw the kids shift around and let out a few giggles a little boy that looked about 5 said "Yes sir! We saw them on the television." Corn walked to us swiftly and said "C'mon some kids want to meet you guys." As we walked to the bars Coriolanus said "May I present Miss Lucy Gray Baird and Y/N Emerald L/N?" The audience fell silent I nervously went down on one knee and said "Hi there, I'm Y/N Emerald L/N, but you can just call me Y/N Emerald. What's your name?" The kid said "My name is Pontius."
I saw the kid looked a bit nervous then I continued speaking saying "How do you do, Pontius?" He was definitely a Capitol lad, Pontius thrust his hand out for a handshake. I hesitated thinking the peacekeepers would think it would be threatening. Pontius then noticed and put his hand between the bars i shuck his hand warmly. I said "So nice to meet you. Is this your sister?" Pontius said "That's Venus she's only 4 though." I said " Nice to meet you, Venus." I heard a murmur from Venus saying "I liked you and Lucy Gray's sing." Lucy and I then said in sync saying "You did? Thats so sweet of you watching precious! We'll try to sing you another song okay?"
Venus smiled and nodded her head shyly then buried her head in her mothers skirt earning a ton of laughter and aws from the crowd watching. Another kid approached and said " Did you guys bring the snakes?" Lucy Gray said "I wish I could've those 2 snakes were both of our friends." Lucy looked at me for confirmation and I nodded with a grin. I asked the little girl "Do you have a pet?" The girl responded saying "I have a fish named Bub." She then looked at me and Lucy Gray and said "Can I touch your guys dress?" We nodded perfectly synchronized she ran a finger over each of our outfits and said "They're both so pretty." I responded saying "I like yours too." The girl had a dress of a faded polka dot printed thing but still very beautiful. Lucy Gray said "Polka dots always make me happy." The small girl beamed at the compliment and flashed a charming grin at us both.

I knew that the audience was slowly warming up to us then we saw a news reporter Lucy Gray sensed it and nudged me I said "Owwww," Lucy Gray pointed then I noticed and quickly got up and the camera was right in our faces. Lucy Gray said "Oh hi there are we on television?" The reporter said "We certainly are on television." I cut in saying "Who might you be?" The news reporter eagerly said "I'm Lepidus Malmsru with the Capitol News! You guys are Y/N and Lucy the famous tributes of District 12?" Lucy Gray and I said "We're not really from Twelve. Our people are called the Covey we travel around with music we one day just took a wrong turn and we're obliged to stay here." Lepidus said "What district are you guys from then?" Lucy Gray responded saying "No district in particular we move wherever we fancy. Well we used to but some peacekeepers rounded us up a few years ago." Lepidus insisted  "But now you're a District Twelve citizen along with Y/N." I said "If you say so."

The reporter may have noticed I was getting bored since he said "Your guys dresses have been a big hit in the Capitol!" I responded saying "Has it? Well, the Covey love color, and Lucy Gray and I especially we also got both our dresses from our moms so it's very special." Lepidus said "Your guys mothers are in District Twelve?" Lucy Gray noticed that I was a bit uncomfortable and said "Just their bones, darling. Just their pearly white bones." Lucy Gray also noticed he was struggling with more questions and said, "So, do you know me and Y/N Emerald's mentor? He says his name is Coriolanus Snow. We definitely got the cake with the cream, 'cause nobody else's mentor showed up to welcome their tributes." Lepidus said "He gave us all quite a surprise. Coriolanus did your teachers ask you to show up here?" Corn said "They didn't tell me to show up here, but they didn't tell me not to." Laughter ripples through the crowd then Corn continued saying "But I do remember them saying that I was to introduce Lucy Gray and Y/N Emerald to the Capitol, and I take that shop very seriously." Lepidus said "So you didn't have a second thought about diving into a cage of tributes?"

Corn admitted saying "Maybe a second, a third, and maybe a fourth and fifth soon. But if their brave enough to be here then I should be brave enough to join them." Lucy Gray and I said "For the record, we didn't have a choice either." Corn said "Don't worry for the record, neither did I. After I heard you guys sang o just couldn't keep away. I confess I'm a fan of you two. Lucy Gray gave a swish of her skirt while I did a courtesy instead. Lepidus said "Well, I hope for your poor sake the Academy agrees with you Coriolanus."
There was a loud noise that sounded like metal doors opening. Lepidus then said "I think you're about to find out. Good luck Coriolanus!" Lepidus turned back to the camera and said "Thank you for joining us," he said "Remember, it's Y/N Emerald L/N and Lucy Gray Baird, representing District Twelve. Drop by the zoo if you have a minute and say hello. I promise their both worth the effort!" Then Lepidus soon left the zoo and Coriolanus was escorted away from the monkey house.
