It was late at evening when Jungkook returned home. It was almost 8pm when he stepped inside his quiet living room and found an unexpected guest infront of him.And his steps immediately haltered.
Originally, Jungkook's mood was quite good. He was very happy about the fact that he had managed to pull lisa into playing some games at arcade with him. Despite her hundred excuses, after hearing his whines, She ended up following him with an ashen face.
He was even planning to have a hearty dinner with his sister and go to sleep throughout his way to home until he came across with certain someone.
The original smile that he was wearing was long gone and was now replaced by a frown.
However, contrast to his reaction, Lee Hajun has the same light smile on his face which he always used to have whenever he looked at Jungkook.
He watched Jungkook's reaction and had a little sigh inside his heart.
"Of course, He is not happy seeing me here tonight"
Knowing that Jungkook would not say anything to break the silence between them, Hajun smiled and stood up from the sofa.
"Long time no see, Jungkook" He said and walked towards him "I hope you're doing well?"
Jungkook watched Hajun with an unreadable expression on his face but he did not say anything.
Or maybe he really did not have anything to say.
But of course, Hajun would not give up so easily.
"Come on Jungkook" He chuckled as he stood face to face with him "You should not act so cold to your step-brother and your ex-best friend, right?"
Saying those mocking things, Hajun was definitely not expecting Jungkook to reply. However to his surprise, A chuckle escaped from jungkook's chest, echoing the quiet living room.
When Hajun thought that Jungkook wouldn't say anything in return, He was proved wrong.
"My bad. I'm really sorry for my rude behaviour" Jungkook said and nodded at him "It just that I really don't know how to act infront of a traitor that's why I was a little stiff earlier. I apologise"
Hearing such a sarcastic statement from him, Hajun's eyes twitched slightly and he sneered, a little taken aback by his unexpected reply.
"I didn't expect a reply from you" Hajun said and glanced at Jungkook's unreadable face "But I didn't know that you're getting good at responses"
This time, instead of getting angry or annoyed by what Hajun said, Jungkook chuckled, surprising Hajun yet again.
"Thanks, Hajun" He smiled at him "I'm learning from my girlfriend. All thanks to her"
Oh! Did he really mention his girlfriend?
Hajun didn't predicted him to bring his girlfriend infront of him. Thus when those words left Jungkook's lips, Hajun looked at him, A little intrigued.
"Your girlfriend? So it seems that you are really dating her" Hajun said "I thought you were just pretending but it turns out, It wasn't"
Listening to his response, Jungkook didn't reply anything this time. He only revealed a small smile, neither agreeing nor declining his assumption.
And why would he even do it?
Hajun wasn't someone who he regard as an important person his life anymore.
He was just his ex-best friend and a step brother, who betrayed him.
Not wanting to continue the meaningless conversation between them, Jungkook sighed and just cut through the chase "I don't have time to continue this meaningless conversation with you. Tell me what do you want?"
