Scars can be different, there can be emotional scars, mental and physical scars.

For you it was the emotional and physical scars, some physical scars small, and some large, most of the scars came from your time in the military and the fight against the Titans, while you had one on your left side of the cheek, that came from home when your uncle attacked you with a knife in a drunken rage, the ugly one on your left leg from the hip to the knee was also from home and once again from a drunken rage, from the same man, the one from the knee on the same leg to the ankle was also from the same man and the emotional scars were also from the same man, but the other scars came from the battlefield.

You hated changing in front of the other girls and would do so by either getting to the dorm first or waiting until everyone was in bed, normally you changed in a closet and then walked to your dorm.

Most people shrugged it off, not even asking why you walked down the corridor all changed ready for bed or where you got changed for the night.

Levi on the other hand, was getting suspicious, why were you walking from the closet and then looking around nervously? He was getting suspicious, and you knew it, you didn't think of showing your scars, you hated the ugly scars on your left leg, and you hated your uncle for giving you the scars, the cheek you were ok with, but you still hated him for giving you the scar.

He always took his anger on you, normally yelling at you and slapping you, but you were shocked when he came at you with a knife, three times.

You sighed, it happened when you were eleven and thank God you left as soon as you turned twelve, despite it had been over five years since you had the scars they were still there, still as ugly when you first saw them.

You had more scars since joining the Survey Corps but not as ugly as the ones on your left leg, the cheek was alright but the ones on the leg was the ugliest.

You didn't think of dating, you didn't want your man to see your left leg, so you kicked dating off your list.

You sighed and continued on walking, heading out to change for the night, you hated wearing shorts but as long as you made sure to hide the leg before the other girls can see it then you were fine.

You snapped out of your little pondering when you spotted someone ahead of you, you didn't think of it at all and kept on going, kept on walking without even looking to see who it was. You rubbed the back of your neck and carried on walking.

"Why the hell are you wondering around at this time!?"

You froze and looked to see who it was. "S-Sir." You spluttered.

Levi glared at you. "Answer me!"

You cringed. "Well...Erm..."

Crap, what to do? What should you do? You were caught sneaking around and you had never been caught before. You thought of a way to get out of your situation, but you couldn't think of how to, you were in serious trouble.

"I don't have all night cadet."

"Going for a walk." You lied.

You hurried on past him but paused when he grabbed your wrist.

"That's a lie and we both know it."

You fell silent, you didn't want anyone to see the scars hidden within the clothing you were wearing.

"If you were really going for a walk, you wouldn't be walking with the clothes under your arm now, would you?"

You said nothing, you hated that he was right, and you hated that he would find out why you're sneaking around so late at night when everyone is in bed, he eventually released your wrist as you said nothing at all.

"Don't think I'm letting you off, you're following me, right now."

You bit back the groan but then bit your lip as he walked off and you had no other choice but to follow, the last thing you wanted was to disobey your superior's order and get punished.

The corridor was silent, all the cadets were in their dorms by now and the squad leaders were doing their paperwork.

You hugged the shorts and t-shirt, you had to be reckless, didn't you?

You wordlessly stepped into his office and closed the door behind you.

"Get your ass in my room in the back and change."

You hesitated for a second, shifting but the glare Levi gave you caused you to cave in and you had no choice but to head to his room. You bet your lip and entered the room.

You breathed out and slowly began to undress, the emotional abuse you endured filled your mind. You blinked back the tears and then began to change, the horrible words your uncle said to you flooded your mind, causing the emotional scarring to happen, you didn't ask for help, you felt it was weak to ask for help.

You folded your uniform and placed them and the harness onto the chair nearby with your boots tucked under the chair.

"You done yet?" You heard him ask.

You swallowed the lump in your throat. "Y-Yes."

You heard the door open, and he walked in. You shifted slightly, you hoped he couldn't see your leg, you didn't want anyone to see the left leg, you hated it.

"What are you hiding?" Levi asked.

You hesitated but didn't answer, how can you? You didn't know what to say.

"..."

"Are you going to answer me or not!"

You flinched. "N-Nothing."

"You're lying (last) because you're shifting and biting your lip."

You hated he could read you like a book and yet you were the only one he could easily read.

"I....I can't." You mumbled.

"And why not?"

"C-Can I go?"

"No, you're not leaving until I get my answer and I got all night."

You bit back the whimper that wanted to escape as you tried to think up a good excuse to get out of your situation you were in, if only you had paid attention.

"Where did this come from?"

You paused when you felt a finger on your scar on the left leg.

"Fucking hell." You heard him mutter.

You said nothing but felt extremely embarrassed that someone can see your scar and that someone had to be your superior.

"Where the hell did these two come from?"

You looked to the floor, feeling embarrassed and ashamed, your uncle had threatened you with a severe beating if you told anyone where the scars on your left leg came from so you didn't bother to show anyone your scars.

"I can't...I-I just can't."

"You've got more than physical scars, haven't you?"

You fell silent, there was no point in hiding it, what was the point? Levi would eventually figure it out himself anyway, he had met people like you before he even joined the Survey Corps, met people who had emotional scars, probably even ones with mental scars.

"Tch, why you haven't told anyone before is beyond me."

"I couldn't." You mumbled. "I just couldn't, when you're threatened with a severe beating by the one man my father trusted with me I just couldn't."

It was just now you noticed the tears rolling down your cheeks as your vision was blurred from the tears. You paused when a thumb wiped the tears from your left eye.

"I don't know the full story (last) but you're better than that asshole and you know it."

You found yourself sleeping on the Corporal's bed, fingers twitching occasionally as Levi's fingers traced the scars on your left leg, he noticed how sensitive you were with someone touching your scars, fingers twitching.

He didn't know the full story but would love to give the asshole a piece of his mind. His gaze went to your sleeping form, he couldn't bring himself to kick you out his office and send you back to your dorm, you were comfortable.

You squirmed when he touched your upper scar on the leg again. You blinked and opened your eyes.

"Please don't." You murmured. "It's...Sensitive."

"How deep did you get cut?"

"...Until you can see the bone."

He twitched as the mental image. You apologized for giving him the disturbing image, you explained what went on at home before you joined the military, before you left your abusive uncle and what that man had put you through most of your childhood, you felt there was no point in hiding it, Levi would have gotten the answer out of you one way or another.

"Tch, and he calls himself a man, I've met some criminals who treat females better than him."

You blinked but said nothing at all, the only light in the room was the candle which wasn't put out yet.

"Why didn't you tell your parents?"

You swallowed the lump and smiled weakly. "They died on their last expedition, I was young when they passed on, their bodies couldn't be retrieved, my dad trusted his brother with me."

You closed your eyes. "I guess not, but how was he supposed to know? He was hardly home, and I didn't want to get him upset, he would have been devastated if he learned the one man, he trusted abused me, dad wouldn't forgive himself."

You opened them again, pink on your cheeks slightly when a pair of lips pressed against your forehead.

"Sir?" You mumbled.

"None of that sir shit in private, understand."

You slowly nodded as a thumb pressed against the scar on your left cheek, it was going to take some time, but Levi planned to heal your emotional scars, it wouldn't be easy, the physical scars he couldn't get rid of but the emotional ones he can, it was worth a shot.

He pressed a thumb against your soft lips, causing you to blush before removing it and bringing you closer to him, causing you to blush even more than you did before, his fingers ran through your (h/c) locks, he gripped your hair gently before pressing his lips to yours.

You were stunned that your superior was kissing you, you couldn't help it, you couldn't help returning the kiss and he didn't push you away, instead the fingers left your hair and arms wrapped around your waist.

Because oxygen was calling you pulled away, letting out a small gasp for air, blushing, eyes closed. You blinked and then blinked again.

"Go to sleep idiot." Levi told you.

You looked at him and then closed your eyes, head hitting the soft pillow, he never let go of you. He shifted to blow out the candle and then went back to the original position he was in, holding you close to him.

The physical scars would be with you forever but the emotional scars he was going to heal, even if it took years and he knew you would allow him to.
