Another horrid day at work. Your boss wouldn't get off your case about your stupid hours even though you requested this week off months ago. It was your birthday, and he still wouldn't let you off the hook. So you weren't able to spend the day out with friends or anything actually fun like you had originally hoped and planned for. But your shift ended around 6 p.m., giving you enough time to go out for a drink, maybe spend an hour or so at the club, but nothing that was going to have a lasting effect like you'd hoped. I mean, it was your 22nd birthday, after all. Shouldn't you be able to go out and enjoy it? Apparently, that wasn't important enough to make the cut.
But here you were, alone at the bar, toasting with yourself to a glass of ginger beer, with jazz music droning in the background. Was this how you would've chosen to spend your birthday? No. But it beat sitting at home doing nothing.
"A shot of tequila."
The bartender nodded and pulled a small shot glass from behind the counter, filling it with the pale yellow liquid. You peered over your shoulder to see the form of a young man taking a seat on the stool to your left. The black blazer over a white button-up didn't tell you much about him other than that he had good fashion sense. Jet black bangs hung in his eyes, so you didn't get a clear vision of his face. You weren't usually one to speak first to strangers, especially not men you bump into at the bar, but the slight tipsiness from your drink told you otherwise; or maybe his ominicity intrigued you.
"Going pretty strong, are you?" you commented, leaning your cheek against your palm.
"I guess. It's been a crazy-ass day, and I need a little relief." His tone was deep and husky, but greatly attractive and melted on your ears like the jazz pouring out of the surround-sound speakers. He was now glancing in your direction, giving you a better view of his features. Narrow grey eyes and pale skin only enhanced the darkness of his hair, beautifully contrasting against his cadaverous features. You had to admit, the man was gorgeous, although it could have easily been the alcohol that made you think so. But either way, you didn't care; if you had the opportunity to get to know him, you sure as hell was going to take it.
"You too, huh? Today's been awful," you smirked slightly, taking another sip of your drink, your (e/c) orbs locked on his steely ones, before you realized that you'd reached the bottom of your glass. A vexed expression distorted your eyes as your eyebrows knitted together in frustration. An empty glass meant you had to head home, so you would have time to go to sleep early for another full eight hours of work tomorrow. But you really didn't want to leave this handsome stranger, as he fascinated you.
The man tapped on the bar counter to get the attention of the bartender, "Two more shots," he requested.
"Wow, you really are planning to get wasted tonight, aren't you?" you joked, sliding your cup away from you as you collected your purse to find your wallet.
"Well I didn't come here planning on it, but if you wouldn't mind staying to drink with me, I will pay for it."
"Excuse me?" you asked, surprised that he'd made you such an offer. "I can't ask you to do that..." you paused, realizing that you did not know his name.
"You don't have to ask, I'm offering, idiot. Are you gonna accept the offer or not?"
His blunt attitude was another thing you weren't expecting from a cool and collected guy like him. His brusque tone was something that you disliked. But you decided to give him a chance before judging him purely based off his attitude. "Hm, sure. Why not?" You smiled, setting your bag down beside you once more. "My name is (f/n), by the way."
The stranger gave a curt nod and pushed one of the shot glasses to you. "I'm Levi. It's nice to meet you then, (f/n). So what are you doing here so early? Most people like to come to the bar later in the evening from what I've seen."
"Ah, well, it's my birthday today and I was supposed to have the day off. But my boss is a douchebag and refused to give it to me," you sighed, taking the miniature glass between your fingers.
Lifting the glass up to you, the corners of Levi's lips turned upward in a sly smirk. "Well then, happy birthday."
And with that, the two of you toasted with a clink of the glass.
Levi's presence not only fascinated you, but he held your interest the entirety of your time spent together. Of course, the three shots of tequila you'd consumed definitely helped. You were giggling like a schoolgirl and having the time of your life with him, ignoring the murmur of the bystanders who passed by. While Levi was keeping his cool, you could tell that he was not as drunk as you were, but intoxicated nonetheless. After an hour of being in the bar, you'd drank a full glass of beer, up to five shots of tequila, and still, you wanted nothing more but the taste of Levi.
[Listen]
"Can I kiss you?"
"What?"
"Can. I. Kiss. You?"
The man scoffed, sauntering closer to you and taking your cheek in his palm. "You sure you can handle it?" The alcohol was apparent on his breath, but that didn't matter. A lustful gleam shone in your eyes, as your want was obvious.
"Of course~"
The kiss escalated within what felt like seconds, his lips like heaven against yours, his tongue working like magic. The room spun as the chemistry rose, becoming more and more heated. With a breath, he whispered into the shell of your ear, his free hand roaming its way down the small of your back, "Let's take this elsewhere, shall we?"
You didn't refuse; how could you? He was the best thing that had happened to you in forever and there was not a chance you were going to pass this up. You weren't the type of girl for one-night stands, but Levi was just so intoxicating all on his own, there was no way you could neglect the feelings welling up inside you.
One thing led to another, as fate would have it, and you found yourself in the backseat of an expensive, black porsche. The car smelled of ecstasy and the toned body laying atop of you didn't undermine that fact.
'Damn, did I hit the jackpot with this one or what?'
You wiped the sweat from your brow with the back of your hand, catching your breath from the climax you'd just reached only a minute before. "Wow...that was amazing..." was all you could choke out under the pressure of Levi. He rose slowly, sitting up just enough to get a full view of your face, flushed with a mix of embarrassment and the effects of alcohol.
"I had a nice time. We should do this again someday."
"Definitely," you agreed, propping yourself up on your elbow high enough to place a gentle kiss on his cheek.
"Hn. Here's my number," the man exhaled, pulling on his shirt and taking up a small business card, holding it out to you between his index and middle finger. "Feel free to call anytime you want to have some fun."
"Will do, thanks."
The two of you finished dressing yourselves in silence as the night came to a close, your head practically throbbing with the headache of tequila. But still, you did enjoy yourself and hoped you'd see him again soon. You both said your goodbyes, after he dropped you off at your apartment. Gathering your things, you smiled and stood from the naturally-heated car into the 9:30 nighttime air. This would be a night to remember.
Or at least for the rest of the night.
If you still remembered his name come morning, you'd give him a call.
When the room starts spinning,
And we stop sinning,
I begin to realize
You look better when I'm drunk.
