new city
what will you teach me
what great lesson have I yet to learn from you
home seems so far away
yet I am determined to replicate it here
in this great big city
where dreams are allowed
where opinions are so outstretched
that there is room for oddballs like me
where my thoughts can wander freely
and simply be
oh big city, what beauty you have
do you know of it?
are you vain
or do you simply exist for yourself
and all the inhabitants within
does your naivete of your beauty save you
from refuting the everchanging
that is your vessel
does this oblivion allow you to grow and change
and keep you moving
and not stagnet
like the other cities
with their cracked exteriors
and their old cobblestone roads
refusing to change
in a world that only knows change
