12: My Brother Wants Me Dead

It's been so long sense the last memorable day. You've stoped counting at this point they've all melded together, trying to keep track is just doing more harm than good.

You're pretty sure the dog squad forgot that the forest used to be theirs, they haven't even been going near it lately.

Many of the monsters in the underground have begun to grow or change even more, the dog squad have extra teeth, they're also sharper, like sharks. Jay has an extra set of ears.

You are growing a pair of horns, they first sprouted some time ago, you fainted in your forest after a particularly bad hunger pain, they were just there when you woke up , and just kept growing since then, your hunger pains have been much worse since then, now it feels like your body is tearing itself apart, you always just feel hungry.

The horns remind you of a windigo's antlers, or maybe a jackalope, they just look like deer antlers with a lot of points, but they haven't shed yet so you'll call them horns. A jackalope fits with your rabbit hoodie at least.

Although a windigo's fits with how you're a skeleton and eat people, and how a windigo is like the embodiment of endless hunger, that's kinda super sad.... If anyone asks you're going to tell them they're jackalope antlers.... wait, you're getting off track.

You're not sure about what Papyrus is growing as of now, but you're kind of curious to find out, as much as you really don't want to see him again.

You also don't know why this is happening to monsters, your only guess is that their body is getting rid of their magic reserves and changing them into something physically a part of them that can help.

Although you haven't used your magic, you always had the vibe that you could use it if you wanted to, now that feeling is gone.

Basically you think every is just adapting to the lack of magic in the underground.

Because of this you've gotten used to taking Jay with you now, barely ever not having xem rolling on alongside you. Xe has much stronger hearing than you with xeir four ears.

The both of you have gotten much much stronger. With you still killing anyone who entered you forest, plus anyone who hurts Jay, you have much more lv than xem that's for sure.

Not to say that Jay is weak or anything. Xe just refuses to deal the killing blow. Something about xeir religion and not allowing any lv to get into the afterlife. You don't know, you were, and still are a proud atheist at least in your past world. there either wasn't a god, or they are a bitch, so religion didn't matter much to you as long as people are nice.

After that measly rabbit all that time ago, you haven't really gotten much else; a squirrel... yeah that's about it, of course you gave it to Jay, xe was on xeir last legs before you got it, you really thought you would lose xem that day.

Jay bounced right back up and continued to come with you into your forest. You were reluctant to bring xem, but your eyesight has gotten much worse (it's difficult to focas on objects in front of you), not to mention your back is just plain painful with your horns growing in so again you agreed.

A couple months later, and that brings you to now. You are both sitting in the forest waiting for prey to come stumbling along. And Jay is trying to hand xeir camera over to you.

"I'm telling you.. Jay, it's your cam..era, you found it, you ke..ep it" Jay just sighs at you something flashing in xeir red eyes you can't pinpoint.

"Listen leef. I know you don't want to take it from me, but please. I just don't think I'll..... please take it." You take a moment to register how Jay said xeir words, you nod, and reach to take the camera.
