9: The Time Skip Chapter

It's been a month sense your little.. skirmish with papyrus and the famine has gotten much worse, Grillby's doesn't sell any food anymore. Most of it has been confiscated by the queen. And most of the magic has been depleted from the air.

You've still been living with Jay. But you've been spending more time in your forest lately picking plants and such.

You've gotten relatively well versed with using a cleaver, although if you are attacking purely to kill and not to eat, (or just trying to kill a monster for any reason as the dust doesn't get ruined by being smushed) you will use a nailed bat you've replaced your cane with.

Some big changes have happened to you because of the whole magic in the under ground thing.

You've gotten more hunched over. So much so that you need your cane (bat??) to just stay balanced. Your feet have gotten bigger so you can jump higher (although you trip when you try to walk normally)

Your joints have gotten better, now it's only when you're moving around for long periods of time that they start to hurt. So you try to keep fights as short as possible

You haven't grown that much in size, although Jay has. Xe is towering over you whenever you two talk even while in xeir chair cry come just below you , although xe aren't even close to papy-... to some tall people you know. Jay has also gotten more feral. Many people have. Yourself included.

The only comfort you got from when after papyrus yelled at you is that magic in the air might have affected him, like his magic didn't recognize your magic as a friend, and made him angry. Basically he was a bout to get more feral real soon.

You... you know what, no you're not afraid to admit it. You killed anyone who dared go into your forest, and of course you weren't going to let them go to waste, so you also found out that monster dust actually didn't taste that bad. Sort of like poprocks. The flavor changes based on their magic type.

Right now you're in your forest ,you've become something of a cryptid to the folks of Snowdin. You're hunting right now, you're just kinda sitting here in a bush.

You think you're lv 6 by now. You don't know you haven't really ever checked yourself when you got here. You don't know how to.

It's different when you kill a monster than when you... do the thing to humans. It is kind of like when you kill the haleef in your homeworld. It just doesn't seem like a real life you're taking. (Although that may be the lv talking)

Anyway. You think that the dog squad have been planning to take your forest back. You heard them group up on the outskirts of it making up plans. And using your awesome deductive reasoning skills, it's probably plans to take your forest.

Because of this you've been going around the edges of the forest, just making sure no one went in.

You hear a rustle to the right of you, your eyelight flicks over the the sound to loud to be a little animal. You hear some quiet shuffling then silence. Looks like there's an intruder in your forest.

You grip your bat in both hands, growling, and ready to give someone the jump scare of their lives.

"Leef, you there bud? I got some news for you."

You immediately relax your iron grip on the bat, and stand up, it's just Jay, you didn't realize the noise was wheels, and not footsteps.

"Yeah.... I'm here, wha...t is it?"

"So uh the first death to starvation happened today, and uh... it was Chloe, the shopkeeper." You glance at xem, you were never good at reading people but you would be dumb if you didn't know xe was sad.

"Was she... related to yo..u?" Xe just gives a nod.

"One of my aunts, you know how it is with rabbit monsters heh..." you take a moment to think of what Jay might need for help.

"Let's get home, the...n you can tell me all about her. Good memories.. will help." You say confidently, like you didn't just pull it out of your ass.

Xe just nods at you and slumps down. After getting permission to push xeir wheel chair the two on you make your way back into Snowdin. You feel eyes on the two of you so you pull your hood up and continue on your not so merry way. The eyes leave before you get home so you're not worried.You give Jay a pat on the shoulder as you walk into the snow mound thing that you call your home.

You set xem up on the couch blankets galore and give xem the last cup of tea you have in the house. You rub circles into xeir back as you listen to xem explain how Chloe was. How when xeir mom was busy working Chloe would take xem.

"Aunty would've liked you Leef" you give xem a soft smile and a long hug. You're not sure what to say, you were never good in these situations.

"She sounds lov..ely. What do you say we g..o on a walk to talk our minds o...ff this? We could go ..to Grillby's to hang out?" Xe smiles and nods.

"Sure Leef. We can hang with your fans" xe jokes, feeling slightly better.

The both of you get ready to go out when a sharp pain of hunger goes through you, you've been giving most of what you catch to Jay. (Though you considered giving some to papyrus he made it very clear he didn't want to see you again so that's out of the question.)

shaking off the pain you stand by the door waiting for Jay. When xe rolls up you give a thumbs up and exit the house.
