You wipe your tears away, dropping your handful of dust from gd, getting caught mid bite. time to burry your feelings and cry about it later.
"Uhhh... hi?" You notice the figure seems almost caught off guard by your.... Why is he caught off guard? Oh well, you brush it off and wipe your dusty hands on your shorts, you wave at him, he seems... ok.
The skeleton clears his throat.
"So Sans, my name is Nightmare, I am here to offer you a deal. You come with me, I give you food, shelter, a home, anything you might need. And you can come on missions for me, this usually entails scaring or fighting people. You see I am the king and guardian of negativity. To do my job I need to keep the balance of positivity and negativity in check. My brother is currently spreading to much positivity than is needed, which is why I need help"
You just stare at nightmare blankly, not gathering anything from his long monologue- also because you're still reeling from the death of Jay, and you're so hungry, you should attack the figure where he stands and eat all that goop right off him. but whatever, you're not bothered you're not bothered you- you'll deal with xeir death later. Now isn't the time-
What would Jay say to you? "Oh come on Leef you just met the guy, it's rude to not pay attention to people, you gotta be all ears even though you've got none"
the goopy figure sighs and restates his whole thing
"I'll give you food and stuff and get you out of your au and you give me help to keep the balance between emotions. I am Nightmare"
You take a moment to process what he said. You're able to get out of here? Hell yes, (you'd bet Jay would like it too) But that still doesn't explain how he knows sans.
"Anyways, the multiverse theory is real yada yada yada... you'll need a new name because my whole group are Sans" oh. So he's like. From a different world. You mean, it kinda makes sense. You were from somewhere else. Yeah checks out.
"Leef....My name is leef. Sp..elt L-E-E-F" god, you can only imagine what Jay would say at spelling your name to the figure. "wow spelling your name? Now he'll be able to forge documents with your name!! Nice thinking Leef, you can get a fake ID to get drinks with!" God you miss Jay.
nightmare nods at you, you are certainly not telling him that you aren't Sans, look at how that turned out with papyrus.
"Is that a yes leef?" You nod. And shuffle around awkwardly. Glancing at the piles of dust beside you. Why did you let Jay die? Why does it still feel like xe is still here. Like you can hear xem whispering to you?,
you move to hide the piles of dust, worried about how your new... boss? Will react to it. He simply glances at them, not taken aback in the slightest.
"Alright, is there anything you'd like to grab before we leave, say goodbye to your papyrus or anything of the like?" You flinch when he mentions papyrus's name. No doubt him hating you now.
"Y...yeah please" as you go to leave your see him go to follow you. Uh ok then guess he's coming with you.
You walk to ja- to your house... "nah it's A ok Leefy Branch! It can be your house now! Since I'm dead and all" nightmare raises a brow when you walk past papyrus's place.
