you sit along side Killer, ignoring Bark's gaze, even though the voices are back and the worms are as active as ever, youre still having a decent time.
The entire household of skeletons are sat at the table, on your left is Killer and your right is Dust, Jupiter finished up on the burgers you ruined and served them up.
Bark's stare turns to the food infront of him.
you hope he didnt end up like you, eating dust like an animal. no matter how your relationship was, he was still nice when he first found out about your past.
he knows i was a human

you brush off your worries in favor of gulping down your food, yapping happily with Killer
Bark takes a tentative bite of the burger, immediately scarfing it down, Mars and Jupiter looks at him sadly. the guilt you feel comes back full force, whatever though. you would have helped him if he let you.
you talk with Dust and Honey about the camping thing you are planning, pointedly ignoring Bark's gaze on you, but he is busy talking with Blue about the royal guard or something, you havent heard of it.
wait, yes i have. it was something in the underground, dont know why i didnt hear about it while i was there...but whatever im sure its not that big of a deal,
the meal finishes quickly, well as quick as it can with four skeletons that used to be starving eating more food than the rest of the household.
Bark gestures you over when dinner is over, going just by the stairs to the basement and he begins talking.
"why."
you blink in confusion, you have done a lot of things that would get that reaction from any sane person.
"wh..at?"
"why did you you kill the dog squad?" Bark asks, standing deathly still by the steps, you freeze, you did not want to be having this conversation
"you kn..ow that none of us.. were in our rig..ht mi..nds."
"why them. they were one of the last groups against Undyne"
a small part in you pales at the name, hands itching up to your eye sockets.
"they... they.. killed Jay.."
"dont say that like its obvious! we had the same amount of food. dont act like you couldnt control yourself! if you had thought for one second Undyne would be overthrown by now."
you freeze hes right hehehe youre a terrible person arent you? you killed the whole dog squad and ate them! you didnt even eat all of them, you wasted the food.
"w....ell im sorry that a cou..ple of dogs were the... only thing keepin..g a resistance to..gether!"
"all you humans are the same, you kill whoever you want and leave to avoid the consequences." you freeze. oh god really hope no one heard that
"i trusted a human once and theres a whole famine going on, i trust another human, only for them to kill the only thing from keeping a tyrant from taking full control. youre all the same"
your hands are scratching at your eye sockets, you caused the underground to go into ruin even more than it already was
youre a bad person, but we still love you Leef. all of us.
"well.. they shouldnt h...ave killed Jay."
"oh my stars," Bark throws his hands in the air "we needed the forest, Jay was in the way! dont you get it? it isnt your forest, other monsters need to eat too."
"i know that... other people nee..d to eat, im not stup..id" he doesnt understand what it was like, you had to support Jay too,
"and th..ere wasnt eve..n anything in the for..est! dont blame.. me for you star..ving"
"you always do this Sans! you ju-"
you and Bark flinch at the slip of the word. Sans is the one who made the deal with the worms.
"i am not t..hat good for noth..ing monster. no ma..tter what i may loo..k like."
you stare at Bark, trying heatedly to convey your point. you will never be Sans. Sans is the one who made a deal with a worm thing of all things, he made you starve even longer without just dying. why couldnt you have died like a normal person?
you turn around pointedly. walking away before you say anything that will be overheard by the other members of the house,
what you dont see is a flash of bright blue rushing away from your left side, your blind side.
