The soft morning light filtered through the curtains, painting a gentle glow across the room. Jeongguk stirred in the warmth of the bed, the softness of the sheets and the weight of another body against his own comforting and familiar. The snow storm has stopped, and so, the electricity had come back at some point during the morning as all the gadgets in the living room got turned on.
Taehyung was curled up against him, their bodies fitting together like pieces of a puzzle. His breaths were slow and even, the peaceful expression on his face a testament to the deep slumber he was lost in.
Jeongguk couldn't help but smile as he watched Taehyung sleep. It was a rare sight to see Taehyung so peaceful, so quiet and..adorable. He'd always act grumpy whenever Jeongguk teases him.
He shifted slightly, careful not to disturb Taehyung's sleep. The room was quiet, save for the soft hum of the air conditioner that was turned on during the night to keep up the chill temperature in the bedroom. But as he tried to extricate himself from Taehyung's embrace, Taehyung let out a soft, sleepy murmur, his arms tightening around Jeongguk as if unwilling to let him go.
Jeongguk chuckled softly, running his fingers through Taehyung's hair. "You really are the cuddler type, huh, Taehyung."
Taehyung groaned in response, his voice thick with sleep. "Mmm, good morning to you too." Taehyung cracked open one eye, his gaze hazy but filled with warmth. ''What's the time?''
Jeongguk hummed as he reached for his phone on the nightstand to his right, but it was nowhere to be found. ''I have no idea.'' He drew back slightly to look at the clock above the bed. ''Nearly seven thirty.''
''What am I doing awake now?'' With a loud puff, Taehyung pushed the duvet over his face, covering his naked body. Jeongguk chuckled and laid back down, pulling the duvet up to cover himself as well. ''Learn to share a damn blanket,'' he grumbled, but the other was already snuggled. ''Oh, am I that comfortable, Kim?"
"Can you blame me? You're warm and cozy."
Jeongguk's heart skipped a beat at Taehyung's words. He couldn't help but feel a rush of emotion at the realization that Taehyung wanted to be close to him.
They were resting rather than sleeping as their naked bodies were embraced on each other. Taehyung's legs were thrown over Jeongguk's, with one leg in between the other's. Taehyung's wrist was under his chin, and Jeongguk's hand was on the other's waist beneath the blanket.
Finally, Taehyung let out a long yawn, his eyes blinking open as he fully woke up. He stretched lazily, his body arching against Jeongguk's.
''Now, good morning.'' Jeongguk chuckled as the other tried to lay on his back but hesitated and shifted to his side.
''He's saying good morning now.'' Taehyung rubbed his eyes and fully opened them, accepting that he would never be able to sleep again. He looked at the other, who was looking back. ''So... that happened,'' Taehyung said quietly, his lips corning up.
''Mhm, that happened,'' Jeongguk said again, mimicking, and they both laughed. Taehyung hummed, as did the other, and since they were so close, he pressed a small kiss against his lips. ''Nothing more than that, morning breath,'' he said, pressing his hand to his palm.
''Just to clarify, our breath smells of nicotine and alcohol rather than fish, if that helps.'' Taehyung pushed Jeongguk further away from him in the bed, groaning once more. ''Oh my God, Jeongguk.''
''Hm, yeah, what?'' Taehyung huffed and pressed his lips together as the other teased him. ''You just want to kiss, don't you?"
''Can you really blame me?'' ''I've committed myself to that experimental thing of ours, you see,'' he said as he pressed his thumb across the brunette's lip and drew him closer for a deeper kiss. No girls for months, which means no kissing. ''There will be no sex.''
