Chapter 14

I started crying and getting mad and happy all at the same time but I couldnt help punching him in the gut which woke him up with him saying "What the fuck Lara?" He then felt his face expecting to feel his mask but instead feeling skin he then said sadly "Damn" I went off on him about how all this happened and how it's his fault but half way through he got up silently crying and walked to the mouth of the cave I suddenly felt bad for going off like that not knowing his side so I walked over to him and tried to hug him but he grabbed me by the arms and said "Don't I've done enough I caused all this just take this" he handed me a small blood red crystal in the shape of a heart with a L engraved in it I looked up at him and said "This was on your mask" as he walked away he said "Yeah it was going to be my gift for doing what I did if I ever tried to come back into your life" I walked towards him he made a gesture so I tossed him his mask then he walked back to me and said "Sorry" he then kissed me and I kissed back then he pulled back but I tried to make it last longer but not paying attention my lips only met the cold carbon black steel of his mask then he hit me in the neck and everything went black....... When I woke up I was laying in bed next to my kids but something in my heart felt empty as I got out of bed I went down stairs to find Raiden and Kenshi in the living room when I walked up to them Raiden said "Lara Hanzo is worried and so are the others they say you haven't been yourself" I looked at him puzzled and asked "What do you mean?" He then picked up a picture of James and asked "Who is this?" I replied sadly "A picture of my dead husband
James I think you guys aren't yourselves you should know him" Raiden then asked "Well then you wouldn't mind Kenshi looking in your head for missing memories would you?" I replied "Of course not" as I Sat down Kenshi started looking through my mind it didn't take long he said "Weird she has all her memories I didn't look at them but their altered someone got to your head before me Lara" I thought back and said "I don't remember having my head messed with or coming near anyone who can access my mind except you guys" Raiden then said "James might have done it" I gave Raiden a weird look "How can my dead husband alter my memories?" Kenshi then said "He's not dead that's what someone wants you to think the elder gods have found his life force but can't trace it" I thought a bit and then shrugged and said "I was there when he died I remember I'm the one who checked for life signs" Kenshi said "Well either the elder gods are being fooled or someone messed with your head"
