I could only focus on the one thing that was clouding my train of thought. Where was Lucy? She has been gone for about two weeks and yet no one seemed bothered by the fact. I was still so very angry with myself for losing my cool at the fact that she was attacking another wolf. I shouldn't have snapped at her like I did but I didn't want her to end up like me. To be honest I do not think anyone would want to be in my position.

Here I was tending to this injured man that Lucy practically made incapable to move when in reality I should be out looking for her. The more I thought about it the clearer it got... Lucy was attacking a spy that was entering our property so why was it such a bad thing? I should be interrogating him instead of letting him heal in our house.

I grabbed onto his broken leg and squeezed a little. "Did Sam send you?" I snarled as he reacted to my vicious grip. I could feel my wolf coming forward as he thought about that horrid excuse for a pack alpha. He did not deserve that title, teaming up with the man who wants to kill Lucy... He was truly stupid if he actually thinks that Victor is going to let her live if they win.

The man howled in pain and quickly nodded his head. "He wanted me to keep an eye on Lucy for him... to make sure that she was not hurt or anything!" I could see the sweat pouring down his face now as he tried to keep his painful screams under wraps.

"Did you know you were attacking Lucy?" I shouted, squeezing even tighter. "You are truly one of Sam's stupid mutts..."

"He did not give me a detailed description on what she looked like! I was told that if anyone was to come near me or engage in a fight then I was to kill! Oh my gosh," he groaned. "Please kill me now! I can not go back to the camp now, Sam will murder me... please I would rather die now then in front of my pack."

"What is going on in here?" A new voice entered the conversation. I turned around to look at Chase who was standing at the door way. He looked down at the man and his eyes slowly moved over to where my hand was still clutching his leg.

I knew I should have let go by now but I was no longer in control of my actions. My wolf was yelling at me to continue so that we could find Lucy and give him the death that he deserves. "Alpha.... I can explain."

He simply held his hand up and gave me a small smile. "Let go."

Instantly I felt my wolf calm and my hand released causing the man to let out a sigh of relief. My wolf was still very angry at this man but when Alpha Chase was in the room he knew that if he gave an order that he had to obey... it was what made him so special.

"I understand what you are going through Tyler," he started. "I know that feeling when your love is missing. When I was still just an a young man we had a war on our hands... Destiny was stolen from me and I knew for a fact that it was tearing me up on the inside. I was shot and the the bullet had made me practically incapable to do anything. I wanted to murder everyone that got in my way but then I had to think rationally... I was getting gifts that I didn't even know I had." He walked over to me and placed his hand on my shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "What I am trying to say Tyler is that you can not run into battle unprepared and with your emotions all crazy. Do you even know if Lucy is in danger?"

I wanted to protest but I knew he was right. I shook my head and my shoulders sagged in defeat. "I just want to protect her and what I said to her was unforgivable. I just know she probably blames herself for what happened and probably thinks everyone is against her now... she is just so sweet and caring. I don't want her to end up like the horrible monster that I am."
