Chapter 11- What’s Happening

I placed my hand over my neck and examined the damage, The ring looking bruise that covered it was quite noticeable and it scared me immensely. I thought about the black pits that held so much hatred and anger towards me, I couldn’t help but shiver. Why would he do that to me? Tyler out of all people, he was the one that was suppose to protect me, I mean I know he was taken but didn’t he tell me to run? Was it really possible that he was expecting me to save him… was I reading his message wrong the whole time.

“Lucy,” Claire called out, looking through the door at me. “Are you ok?”

I felt my lip quiver slightly and shook my head. I was far from ok, I was betrayed by the one person I thought would never hurt me. I thought he loved me, he sure did act like it but now I was just a problem in his eyes apparently.

“I was just as confused as you were,” she began, rubbing my back soothingly. “That was until he told me the story…”

I scrunched up my eyebrows in confusion, looking up at her from my pillow. “What are you talking about?” I asked, trying to hold back the tears.

“When they took him away in the park the man after you injected him with something that completely messes up the brain. Good turns bad and bad turns good I guess you can say…” she ran a hand through her hair. She was stressed out, I bet everyone is at this point but yet she still managed to keep an upbeat attitude about things. She may fight a lot with Miles but when it came down to it she kept the peace in the house.

“So if that is right then why isn’t he attacking you too?” I threw back, slightly irritated. I had this thought in my mind that she was just trying to make an excuse for him. There was really no excuse for the way that he was acting towards me, his sudden anger was nothing but him. “Speaking of him where is he?”

She sighed. “He locked himself in the cell in the basement.”

“There is a cell in the basement?” I didn’t know that… of course I really only explored the workout part of the basement. There were a couple of other areas that kind of creeped me out and I didn’t have the courage to actually go towards it. Call it being a chicken but you should learn that when you meet an antisocial person like me, dark scary things also come along with the package.
