AN: Hey guys I am so sorry for the long wait. I just got my new laptop for christmas and I was so darn excited to use it. I unfortunately caught something at my uncle's house while we were down there for christmas and spent all christmas night fighting this sickness. I swore that I would never go back there again... I guess this is my punishment for breaking that promise, I know now that not even my family can force me to go back down there.

Anyways I hope you all had a wonderful christmas, anyone get anything good? I also got lots of fuzzy socks, thanks to all my wonderful friends on my hall at college. Such sweet people, anyways enough about me! ENJOY!

He grabbed at my hand, begging for me to release him. His eyes were desperate and I knew something had to be wrong if an alpha was acting like this. Alphas are suppose to be on top, the thought of anyone trying to push them around makes their blood boil, the wolf within them wouldn't be able to control himself. I don't know how it works for mates, but I am still pretty sure his wolf wouldn't appreciate this kind of treatment.

"Lucy you have to hear me out," he gasped as he continued to claw. His form seemed weak, the pigment of his seemed to be a lighter color... more like ghostly white rather than his normal dark tanned color. "You can kill me after but I need to tell you this."

There was a red ring slowly forming in my eyes, I could feel my heart racing in my chest. The feeling of my hands clutched around this horrible mutt's neck was refreshing, so refreshing I wanted to make the misery he has caused us all show through the slow painful death he deserved. "Why should I listen to you," I practically growled, digging my nails into his neck.

I had to remain in control of this, I knew that I would not win this battle if I did not let go right this instant. I forced my hand away from his throat and backed up a could of steps. I kept telling myself that Sam was not stupid enough to come charging into my territory if it wasn't for a good reason.

"Victor knows you are leading a group to him, he is prepared for your attack," he coughed, rubbing his neck. The red marks from my hand started to show and that was something that should not pop up so easily on someone like him. His eyes met mine, "I came to warn you Lucy... I want to make up for all the times I have hurt you."

"You think telling me something that I could have figured out on my own was going to fix the damage you caused in my life?" I asked, the pace of my heart picking up even more. I did not even know that it was possible for my heart to beat at a pace like this. "You think that I care what you have to say!"

"He has weapons," he yelled out, cutting me off from my rant. "This weapon can take down even the strongest of wolves. This weapon is currently flowing through my veins." He turned around and exposed his back so that I could see.

I felt the air leave my lungs at the sight. There was a black hole, a sizzling sound came from the wound and the blackness was starting to expand all over his body. The sight was enough to send a fear so terrifying that it could practically paralyze you in your spot. "Sam how did this happen?"

"I overheard him talking about his plan," he mumbled. "I thought he was going to give me you when the battle was over, to allow me a chance to correct the wrongs. I did not realize that he was using my pack to get revenge on your mother. He is going to kill you Lucy, you are his target." He tried to stand up and face me but failed, falling back to the floor with a thud. "When he realized that I was there, he turned my pack against me and they shot me with this poison. I felt my body go weak and they thought I had died." He glared down at the ground and slammed his fist into the tree next to him. "They tossed me out like I was nothing, little did they know that I was not finished. I had someone I needed to save and that was enough to keep me alive for the moment."

"What else can you tell me," I urged. "Do you know what he has planned?"

"He is going to have the weakest people stationed in the trees with the poison, their job is to get rid of as many of your people before you can reach them. They know you have more people than them, that is why he has this poison." His shoulders started to fall and his head fell back against the tree behind him. He looked up at me and reached out, placing his hand on top of mine. "Lucy, I want to apologize... these feelings I had for you all these years were confusing. I really thought that they were feelings of hate, I felt my body boil when I saw you, my heart would start racing, and I could never think straight. I thought that was anger but it was actually a strong attraction that I never knew was real."

I felt myself looking away, pulling my hand away from his. The smell of the poison was much stronger now and I could practically see right through his skin. There was a huge bruise where he had hit the tree and the bones in that hand were broken. This was like looking at a fragile doll and it made my stomach drop. "Sam I-"

"Send your best trackers out before your best fighters," he informed me. "They will be able to handle the people with the poison; they are not the strongest people... a omega could probably take them down that's how weak they are. They are good with aim though so tell them to be quiet." He suddenly broke out into a fit of coughs and his fearful eyes connected with mine. "Please forgive me Lucy, please."

I opened my mouth to reply but closed it, unable to find words to express how I felt. I wanted to hug him for his help and I wanted to leave him at the same time. I wanted to forgive him and at the same time spit on him for what he has caused. I was emotionally damaged because of him and if it wasn't for Tyler, I would probably be dead. I wanted to hate him so much but I knew that wouldn't do any good. I would feel this guilt for the rest of my life if I let him die with this heavy feeling on his heart. I was not evil; I was not Victor.

"Please," he begged once more.

I grabbed the hand that was not injured and gave it a small squeeze. "Sam, thank you for everything. You have given me a chance to prove to others what I am capable of, you allowed me to find someone who was not chosen for me, but someone that allows me to write my own future. You have helped me find people who love me and who have taught me to love myself. Thank you for the information you have given me, I promise that the suffering you have gone through will not be for nothing. I will fight this battle against Victor and I will bring justice for those he has hurt." I placed his hand on his leg and smiled down at him. "I forgive you."

He smiled up at me and let out a small wheeze. "Thank you Lucy, you truly are amazing." The life left his eyes and there was nothing left but a smile stuck on his face. He left us peacefully and happy, something I wish everyone could have. I knew that this battle was going to leave many dead, many of those deaths with fear stuck in their hearts. Some of those deaths would have a never ending hatred and anger towards others, something that made me feel pity towards them. They would never know the true joy of being happy and I only hopped that before they died that they would find peace like Sam did.

I placed my hands over his face and closed his eyes. I stood up and walked away, a new sense of hope coursing through my body.
